Discover the Sailing Capital of the World

The British Virgin Islands (BVI) consistently rank among the top yacht charter destinations in the world — and for good reason. With more than 30 lush islands, calm turquoise waters, and short sailing distances between anchorages, it’s the perfect playground for both first-time charter guests and seasoned sailors.

Having lived in the Virgin Islands for over four years, I can tell you firsthand: the BVIs blend natural beauty, vibrant culture, and exceptional sailing conditions in a way few places can match.

☀️ Best Time to Visit & Book

The BVI is a year-round destination, but the prime sailing season runs from mid-November to early July. During this time, you can expect:

  • Temperatures around 85°F during the day and 75°F at night
  • Steady trade winds of 15–20 knots
  • Sunny skies with minimal rainfall
  • Plenty of protected anchorages for comfortable cruising

Booking tips:

  • Reserve 9–12 months ahead for peak holiday weeks (Christmas & New Year)
  • Reserve 6–9 months ahead for busy winter & spring dates
  • Flexible? Last-minute specials may be available

Hurricane season runs from August to October, so most charters pause during those months.
