Carlos is originally from Barcelona and is now based in Palma de Mallorca. His passion for cooking began in childhood, inspired by his grandmother, who was a wonderful cook and played a big role in shaping his love for food. His cuisine is deeply rooted in Mediterranean gastronomy, particularly Spanish cuisine, while also drawing influence from Italian and French culinary traditions. At 18 years old, Carlos began his culinary studies at a school near Barcelona in Sant Feliu de Llobregat, which inspired him to further pursue his passion and eventually earn a degree in Culinary Arts and Sciences from the prestigious Basque Culinary Centre in San Sebastián. A versatile and creative chef, Carlos also developed a strong appreciation for Asian cuisine during his time working at Jungsik in South Korea. Shortly afterwards, he joined the renowned two-Michelin-starred restaurant Disfrutar in Barcelona. Over the years, he continued refining his techniques in several respected restaurants across Spain before discovering the yachting industry a few years ago – a career path that combined his love for travel, hospitality, and cuisine. Since then, Carlos has worked on a variety of yachts and recently joined AZIZA. He strongly believes that “a great product is always the key to great cooking,” a philosophy reflected in every dish he creates.
