As a child, Ish spent his summers at his grandparents’ cottage in Ontario, where he first learned to sail on the waters of Lake Huron aboard a 16-foot Wayfarer. Those early experiences sparked a lifelong passion for the ocean and adventure.
While attending college in Arizona, Ish developed a deep love for the outdoors, spending his free time surfing, skiing, rafting, climbing, and exploring the desert wilderness. But despite his love for the mountains and desert, he missed life on the water.
That passion eventually led him to the British Virgin Islands, where he began living and working aboard sailboats. After graduation, Ish moved to the Caribbean full-time and spent the next 12 years captaining both private and charter sailing vessels. He is now excited to bring his experience and love of the sea to the South Pacific as captain of Babac.
