Ben was born in Montreal, Canada, and moved to the north of New Zealand when he was young. Growing up by the sea, he developed a passion for the ocean—joining a sailing club and learning to scuba dive in the local marine reserve. While at university, he worked as a dive instructor and dive boat captain, which naturally led him towards a career on yachts.
Since joining his first yacht in 2007, Ben has travelled the world by sea, exploring the South Pacific, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, the Americas, and much of the Mediterranean. For the past four years, he has been the Captain of Cupani, cruising to almost every coastal destination the Mediterranean has to offer.

Martin was born and raised in Jutland, Denmark, and began his sailing career in 2001 when he joined Mærsk for dual officer training. After five years of study and three and a half years at sea on container ships and tankers, he graduated in 2010 as both an Engineer and Officer.
He went on to sail with Mærsk Supply Service in the offshore oil industry, working in the North Sea and off the coast of Brazil. Four years later, he became part of the Cupani crew, where he’s served as engineer ever since.
Outside of work, Martin enjoys technology—whether it’s building computers or gaming—and makes time each year to travel and unwind in new corners of the world.

He joined Cupani in late 2024 as an officer while the yacht was in Malta and has since very much enjoyed being part of the vessel and programme.
