For Amanda, yachting started out as a way to continue seeing the world. After a season of being a stewardess/deckhand, she fell in love with working on the exterior of the boat. Now Amanda is working towards completing the necessary courses to further her career on deck. Amanda is passionate about nutrition, fitness, and travel. Luckily, he graduated, and went on to Auburn University where he studied genetics and would work offshore on commercial and sportfishing boats to cover the costs. Since then he’s worked in multiple divisions of the maritime industry from tournament fishing Marlin to Tarpon on fly, and working on commercial vessels to yachts up to 95m all over the world. He is a very experienced diver with a passion for the ocean and has a love for nature, forestry, and aviation.

Flippie grew up farming cattle in the Franschhoek Valley just outside of Cape Town, South Africa. Here, under the fierce South African sun, his love for the great outdoors began. He loves spending time with mother nature whether it’s on the back of a horse, hiking, on a boat at sea or diving the vastly unexplored ocean beds. In 2013, he decided to trade his cows for a taste of the open ocean. A journey that would take him around South East Asia, Alaska, America, and show him the age-old cultures of the Mediterranean. It’s fair to say that the “yachtie bug” has bitten him. He believes that life is a gift that should be enjoyed to the fullest.
