Dani Garner is a 24-year-old maritime enthusiast with a passion for exploration and adventure. Growing up on a farm in South Africa, she developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors and nature. Five years ago, she joined the maritime industry, starting as a stewardess and later advancing to deckhand in 2021 and now First Mate. Her ultimate goal is to captain her own vessel, and she is committed to continually developing her skills and expertise to achieve this aim. Outside of her maritime pursuits, she has a diverse range of hobbies that reflect her love of adventure and the great outdoors. These include running and cycling, hiking, photography, scuba diving, and kiteboarding. She thrives on new experiences and enjoys the thrill of anything that offers an adrenaline rush. At the same time, she also appreciates the social side of life and relishes the opportunity to meet new and exciting people from all over the world. Engineer Mat Styger came to yachting after 9 years in the Royal New
Zealand Navy. The working dairy farm he grew up on in rural New Zealand
has been in his family for generations. Mat can fix almost anything and is
fluent in nerd: in his spare time, Mat builds models and constructs elaborate
dioramas and displays for transformers, models and 1/6 scale figures. He
may or may not have a Batman costume in his cabin (spoiler alert: he does).

Deckhand Bradley Penberthy grew up literally splashing around South Africa’s east coast. From a long line of fishermen, Brad fell for that pastime hook, line, and sinker. If there is a body of water in sight, Brad will be fishing in it –unless, of course, he can also dive, spearfish or bodyboard in it. Aside from fishing, Brad’s superpowers are chasing sunsets and finding the perfect joke for every occasion.

you’ve ever tasted. Her sparkle is evident in all the tiny details of your
charter, from table settings and turn downs to flowers and fitness.

Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, Darren has always been an active outdoor person and boating enthusiast. Growing up, his dad would take the family out on their boat around Sydney Harbour and taught him how to drive. This led to many activities involving water sports, where he tried his hand at surfing, diving, wakeboarding, and played rugby league at a junior professional level on land.
Prior to yachting, Darren was a hotel/club manager of over 30 staff and security, and studied hospitality management. He is always trying to improve his skills to be the best he can be, and is regarded as hardworking, patient, and approachable. With now over 13 years in the yachting industry and holding a Master 3000gt license, Darren takes pride in leading a harmonious, hardworking team in providing exceptional guest experiences.

From the east coast of South Africa, First Officer Calvin fell in love with the ocean at an early age. Growing up, his life was strongly structure around ocean sports and hobbies, these being surfing, fishing, wakeboarding and lifesaving. 2018 proved to be the year where Calvin turned his ocean passions into profession, and he has since travelled the world in the industry. When he’s not at work, you’ll find Calvin in the gym, hanging out with friends or, more often than not, down at the beach. Calvin is here to make sure you find the perfect balance between chilling in the hot tub and seeking thrilling new adventures at sea.

Second stewardess Catherine Fish might tell you that she’s been a high school
math teacher, a bakery owner, and a cruise ship art gallerist, but what you should
know is that she is royalty. To be more specific, Fish is the Queen of Snacks:
eating snacks, making snacks, serving snacks, inventing new snacks, causing
existing snacks to disappear—if it’s snack related, she’s on top of it. She thinks
about snacks while running, hiking and climbing. Like a true Fish, she firmly
believes that a dip in the ocean fixes almost anything.

Sarah was born and raised in Zimbabwe before moving to a small coastal town called Plettenberg Bay in South Africa. With a passion for the ocean and food, she is always hungry for an adventure. She leans on her varied experiences in service, retail, management, and childcare to provide a colorful blend of skills. Over recent years, Sarah has dedicated time to learning about healthy habits that nourish both the body and the soul. When she is not beach combing for seashells to make into jewelry or listening to another podcast, you can find her juggling her array of other hobbies like knitting, hiking, amateur photography, and trying to be as punny as she can through it all.

Chef Yudhisthar Pather, affectionately known as “Yudhi” began his culinary journey in a small surfing town, renowned for its beautiful beaches and the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. From a young age, he was captivated by the art of cooking, often helping his grandmother in the kitchen. This early love for the culinary arts propelled him to pursue formal training, eventually earning his credentials as a Cordon Bleu chef. Beyond the kitchen, Yudhi enjoys video games, reading, and exploring new dining experiences. Known for his humor, loyalty, and dedication, he is the perfect addition to the crew.
