Andrew grew up in the Scottish Highlands. He was taught how to sail from the age of 4 by his father and was quickly able to sail an Optimist by himself. He started racing a Topper at the club and then he progressed to sailing 420s, until reaching a position in the Scottish 420 Squad and representing the team both nationally and internationally. When Andrew wasn’t competing, he worked abroad for several summers as a sailing instructor.
At university, while studying navalarchitecture and high performance marine vehicles, he was appointed as head of the beginners training program and represented the university’s racing team in nationwide competitions. In 2016 he sought a career in super yachting. Since then he has worked on many sailing yachts, including the prestigious J-class yacht Rainbow. He quickly progressed through the ranks due to his background in sailing.
Now, as first mate aboard Sørvind since her launching in 2022, Andrew hopes to use his sailing and teaching skills to involve guests in unleashing Sørvind’s full potential! When he isn’t sailing Andrew enjoys skiing, wakeboarding, or maintaining and driving his classic car.

With over eight years of experience as a dedicated yacht chef, James brings an impressive culinary pedigree to Sorvind. His calm leadership in the galley, creativity with international cuisines, and deep understanding of the high expectations of charter guests make him a standout asset onboard.
James has helmed the galley on both sailing and motor yachts ranging from 35m to 140m, often running busy charter programs solo. His culinary foundation was forged at the Ashburton Chef Academy in the UK, and honed through ten years of land-based fine dining prior to his yachting career.
Expect beautifully presented, tailored menus using fresh local ingredients, thoughtful attention to dietary needs, and a calm, professional presence in even the most demanding settings—be it back-to-back charters or regatta racing.

Olivia grew up with sailing and life on the water at home on the south coast of the UK. Starting out on Optimists, Olivia then sailed with her parents on their Mirror dingy and more recently raced X-boats on The Solent. After completing a degree in History of art and architecture her love for the ocean and travelling led her to the yachting industry. She has previously worked on motor yachts around the Mediterranean and UK waters and 45ft catamarans, doing charters around Croatia. Olivia is a dynamic individual with a background in childcare, hospitality, and a brief stint in marketing. Her experience as a nanny has fostered patience and kindness, while her hospitality experience means she is very accustomed to providing a unique experience for any guest that comes her way. She is a sports enthusiast, engaging in activities like sailing, skiing, SUP, and yoga. She also enjoys cooking, travelling, and photography. With a zest for life and a diverse skill set, Olivia is a valuable asset to the Sørvind team.

Originally from New Zealand, Harriet has extensive experience managing complex engineering systems on high-performance yachts.
Her career has taken her from the Caribbean to the Great Lakes, and along both the East and West Coasts of Canada and the USA, where she has worked on a diverse range of vessels. She specializes in propulsion, hydraulics, electrical systems, and onboard safety.
Known for her problem-solving skills and proactive approach, Harriet plays a crucial role in maintaining Sørvind’s reliability and efficiency.
Beyond her engineering expertise, Harriet is an avid adventurer with a deep passion for the ocean and exploration. Her diverse interests range from sailing to remote destinations and underwater photography to climbing, bouldering, and cooking.

Captain Timothy (Tim) is a qualified and highly experienced sailor, having sailed full time since 2007, and in the role of captain since 2013. He has been at the helm of Sorvind since her launching in 2022.
He has navigated owners and guests on their holidays throughout the Mediterranean and Caribbean waters using his extensive knowledge of secluded anchorages, weather planning and seamanship to get the best out of any charter. Safety onboard is something that he takes very seriously, and he prides himself on managing a happy, well-oiled crew that always meets the highest expectation of any yacht owner or charter guest. With a strong background in yacht racing, Captain Tim has sailed every type of yacht imaginable from the finest superyachts in the industry to competitive one-design classes and grand prix racers.
This performance background ensures that Sørvind’s charter guests will enjoy top-level sailing on the newest superyacht available on the charter market. When off the water, Tim enjoys spending time with his young family, surfing, mountain biking, traveling and exploring.
