James was first introduced to sailing through his dad who competed in the Fastnet race over multiple years. As a family they would enjoy sailing holidays around Scotland, the Highlands and Sweden cruising in a Sigma 38. This led James to sail across the Atlantic in a class 40 and then more recently race in The Voile in Saint Tropez in the Schooner Puritan. But his sailing has always been a hobby until joining Sørvind . He has spent the last eight years as a Brewer in London which is where his engineering experience stems from. Now James is excited to combine his engineering knowledge with sailing on a high performance yacht.
Make sure to ask James for an Engine Room Tour or quiz him on his masters in Musical Composition and he might even bring out his guitar for a tune or two.
