While studying accounting at university, Miara discovered a passion for hospitality, working in bars and restaurants to support her studies and gain valuable life experience. Inspired by family members in the industry, she transitioned into yachting with the goal of one day becoming a purser. Miara is also a talented Cook Islands dance instructor and loves sharing the rhythm and spirit of Polynesian culture, whether on board, ashore, or during special guest events. Despite growing up far from the ocean, she was instantly captivated by life at sea. Leveraging her wellness background, she transitioned into managing onboard fitness and leading yoga sessions while excelling in interior operations, eventually rising to lead the team. Today, with over six years of experience as a Chief Stewardess, Emma is known for her poised leadership and dedication to exceptional guest experiences. She thrives on building cohesive, high-performing teams and perfecting service standards. Before yachting, Emma had a dynamic career as a professional dancer, performing in musicals and even playing Cinderella at Disneyland. A lifelong wellness advocate, she is also a certified yoga instructor, personal trainer, and marathon runner. Her passion for sustainability led her to teach at the launch of Adidas’ yoga line made from upcycled ocean plastic, blending her values and expertise. In 2014, fueled by an unwavering dream, Ned embarked on a quest that led him to the prestigious Australian superyachts, where he earned his certificate in professional deckhand training. Steered by diligence and a commitment to education, Ned attained his MCA Master 3000 Captain’s license. His ingenuity, laid-back charm, and versatile spirit make him a beloved figure among both guests and crew. While his primary focus is ensuring the safety and pristine condition of guest areas, he is also your go-to guru for mastering the art of wakeboarding. Beyond the oceanic horizons, Ned finds joy in fishing, diving into the depths, and immersing himself in the world of literature. Back on solid ground, he embraces the role of a devoted father to his three spirited sons.

Born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal, Carlos grew up surrounded by a seafaring tradition. He developed a natural affinity for the sea and continues his family's legacy with passion and professionalism. Carlos holds a Master 3000 GT Yacht certificate and brings extensive experience along with a strong leadership presence to SOUNDWAVE. His expertise in deck operations, bridge management, and safety procedures ensures the yacht operates to the highest standard. Before entering the yachting industry, Carlos was a professional kayaker who competed internationally on the world tour for three years. His background in elite-level sport fostered resilience, precision, and a team-first mindset, all of which define his approach on board. Fully fluent in five languages, Carlos is a versatile communicator, well-suited to working with multicultural teams and international guests. Off duty, he enjoys kayaking, sailing, and managing his portfolio of holiday rentals in Portugal.

Sally grew up around the world; by the time she was 18 years old, she had lived in eight different countries. She now considers both Amsterdam, Netherlands, and Jakarta, Indonesia, home and feels that each place holds a piece of her heart. Growing up with an interest in the human mind, she studied Psychology at Vrije University in the Netherlands. Sally decided to change tracks and become a chef, as she grew up cooking with her mother and has a deep passion for it. Sally has been in the yachting industry for seven years and has thoroughly enjoyed sailing to almost all regions of the world, including Asia, the Pacific, North and South America, the Mediterranean, and the Caribbean. When she is not busy cooking up a storm, you will likely find her shopping or exploring the local area. On holiday, Sally enjoys traveling to new countries to immerse herself in different cultures and try new cuisines.

Oleksandr began his maritime career in 2011, working on the commercial side of the industry on a variety of vessels before transitioning to the yachting industry in 2023. He is both an Electro-Technical Officer and an Engineer with extensive experience in winter shipyard periods, class surveys, and refit projects. He holds two licenses: Senior ETO and Second Engineer Unlimited. You may see him out on deck, giving the deck crew a helping hand or ensuring the onboard entertainment system is fully operational. Oleksandr is a very active and athletic person who loves sports in all forms. Some of his favourites include volleyball, snowboarding, skiing, wakeboarding, running, cycling, swimming, tennis, table tennis, padel, and badminton. When he isn’t participating in sports, he loves to beat the rest of the crew at chess.

With five years of experience working on various charter yachts, Sean has built a strong foundation in deck operations, guest service, and maritime safety. Born and raised on a safari ranch in Zimbabwe, he developed a lifelong love for the outdoors and adventure. His upbringing instilled in him a strong work ethic, adaptability, and a calm, confident approach to life at sea. Outside of work, he thrives while pursuing outdoor activities such as surfing, freediving, and going to the gym. His passion for physical challenges complements his professional drive and discipline. Currently studying to advance into a Second Officer role, he is focused on developing his navigational knowledge and leadership skills.

Originally from the coastal city of Port Elizabeth, South Africa, Jonas is embarking on his first season in the yachting industry with enthusiasm, focus, and a strong work ethic. With a natural connection to the ocean and a lifelong love for the outdoors, his transition to yachting feels like a seamless evolution of his passions. Prior to joining the industry, Jonas worked as a biology teacher, where he became deeply interested in marine life and ocean conservation. Naturally, becoming a certified diver was also in the cards. He is currently working towards his OOW qualification with the long-term goal of becoming a captain one day. Outside of work, Jonas leads an active lifestyle and is passionate about sports and adventure. He enjoys rugby, golf, and surf lifesaving. He also has a particular love for exploring new places and experiencing different cultures.

Jordan spent the first decade of his life in Durban, South Africa, before immigrating to the Gold Coast in Australia, which he has proudly called home ever since. His introduction to the yachting industry came through family members who have worked in the field for decades. Their experiences inspired him to pursue his own journey within it. Jordan holds Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster Offshore certifications. In 2019, Jordan gained hands-on experience as a sole deckhand in the Mediterranean and is excited to revisit the area this summer aboard SOUNDWAVE. He has a deep-rooted passion for motor mechanics, particularly cars, and an undeniable love for all things related to watersports. He thrives in environments that keep him active and challenged. Jordan also has a creative side, with a long-standing interest in filmmaking. Outside of work, Jordan is adventurous, outgoing, and always open to trying new things, as long as it doesn't involve eating seafood!
