Born in Fiji as a US citizen, Rob spent his junior years exploring the Fijian Island Archipelago surfing, spearing, and camping the numerous atolls and Islands spending the better part of the week out on the high seas. Having a love for the ocean, it was only natural that he pursue a Maritime Career in yachting.
Coming from a sporting family he played basketball at the International level for 13 years for his National team in the Asia Pacific and Oceania regions also acquiring a scholarship to play in the US. An avid sportsman he also gained a spot on the Fijian Olympic team for Triathalon but due to a near fatal motorcycle accident had to bow out of the 2012 London Games. Today, Rob is a proud father of two beautiful kids, Baravi, 9, and Hazel, 12, both talented in their own disciplines.
Rob has 17 years of Professional Maritime Experience and has circumnavigated the globe several times over with a dozen Atlantic crossings and half a dozen on the Pacific side spending many seasons in the Polar regions of the world. All this has given Rob a good understanding of safety and how important it is to prioritize the safety of life first, then that of the vessel and the environment.
