Originally from the Philippines, Glenn has been in the maritime industry for over 27 years and holds an impressive array of marine engineering certificates. He began his engineering journey onboard crude oil and chemical tankers, later working as a Motorman and Chief Engineer onboard a passenger vessel. This wealth of experience and knowledge expands to design, maintenance, repair and safety, making him a stellar member of the AK ROYALTY crew.

Khafaga is a seasoned maritime professional whose passion for the water has defined his career journey. With a wealth of experience as a water sports instructor, to later being captain on a 56ft yacht, Khafaga has honed his skills in navigating the seas and mentoring others. From coaching world waterski champions to leading his own fishing team, he is dedicated to inspiring others through his love for the water.
Now serving as the first officer on AK ROYALTY, Khafaga continues to bring his expertise and enthusiasm to the yachting world, making guest experiences both unique and unforgettable.

Charisse is a dynamic and passionate individual with a deep love for nature and the ocean. Before her hospitality career, she worked as a scuba dive instructor in South Africa, where she led dives discovering deep reefs, wreckages and conducted research. She also worked in coral conservation, teaching open-water courses. Shortly after, she worked her way up to head waitress at a 5-star hotel, practicing the most prestigious customer service. It is no surprise that these experiences led her to superyachts, where she quickly worked her way up to Second Stewardess and continues to provide exceptional service to her guests.

Growing up in Kenya, Spencer has always been a talented handyman, working as a sandblast/painter, swimming pool attendant and later a mechanic. His love for the water sparked when he became crew on a commercial fishing boat, mastering lines and assisting the captain with navigational tasks. He quickly moved up the ranks, becoming a captain on board vessels ranging from 12 to 24m. He particularly loves interacting with guests, making them feel safe and welcome onboard his vessels. In his spare time, Spencer is also an avid open water diver, and loves to share this passion with his guests and crew.

David is an established Deckhand, having worked on board sailing yachts ranging from 20 to 39ft in Cape Town. More recently, David worked as a water sports instructor at a 5* resort, creating exceptional guest experiences which he now brings to AK ROYALTY. He describes himself as an ‘international problem solver’, which perfectly describes his ability to navigate anything that comes his way with enthusiasm and positivity.

Amilyn has been in the yachting industry for over 10 years and prides herself on exceptional attention to detail and customer service. Prior to her yachting career, she gained a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, and holds a Certificate of Teaching. These experiences have transcribed in her approachable nature on board, ensuring she goes above and beyond for her guests. Having worked in both interior and exterior, she knows the running operations of a yacht, and ensures her crew is always top of their game.

Pedro has been in the yachting industry for over 10 years, with a further 15 years’ experience as a Master Mariner. Originally hailing from Chile but now based in Dubai, he has an intimate knowledge of AK ROYALTY, having been instrumental in ensuring her summer 2023 refit was carried out to the highest standard. He has had the good fortune of sailing throughout the Middle East, South, Central and North America, Europe and the Indian Ocean. Pedro looks forward to welcoming guests on board so they can experience all that AK ROYALTY has to offer, as well as ensuring the charter runs smoothly.
