My name is Valerio Maria Gobbi, born in Lugano, Switzerland, in 1978. I took my first steps on
a boat as a child, sailing on the lake, a passion passed down to me by my father and practiced
for many years as an amateur sport. After a brief period away from the sea, I soon realized that
I could not live without it. What began as a passion naturally evolved into a profession, and I
dedicated myself fully to obtaining all the qualifications that have shaped my career.
I embarked for the first time as a junior deckhand on a large yacht, and despite the demanding
life on board, I knew from the very beginning that this experience would mark the start of my
journey. Today, 28 years later, and with over a decade of experience as Captain, I can say that
the Mediterranean has become my home. Its waters hold few secrets for me—although I
always remind myself that in this profession, there is always something new to learn.
Since 2024, I have been serving as Captain on M/Y Alkimia. On board, I strive to create an
atmosphere of relaxation, discretion and attention to detail, maintaining the right balance
between professionalism and a warm, welcoming environment. My goal is to ensure that
every guest enjoys an unforgettable cruising experience, surrounded by comfort, serenity and
the unique charm of this catamaran.

My name is Manfredi Caprì, born in Palermo in 1975. I like to describe myself as a simple and
free person, someone who has worked from a very young age in environments closely
connected to nature — first at sea, and later in agricultural settings — always keeping a strong
passion, attention and updating for cooking, a passion I have never abandoned and carried
out at a professional level for several years.
The sea has always been a central part of my life. I trained as a sport diving instructor, a
discipline I have practiced since 1995, and later continued as a professional commercial diver
(OTS). As a young athlete, I practiced competitive swimming and water polo, eventually
earning qualifications as a lifeguard and swimming instructor. The sea is my element, and I
love sharing this enthusiasm with others.
I consider myself a positive, proactive person, always ready to take on new challenges and
pursue dreams that align with my values as a man, a father and a professional. I believe in
commitment, humility, and the ability to “get things done”.
This year I joined M/Y ALKIMIA, where I am fully dedicated to offering guests the highest level
of hospitality and ensuring they enjoy an unforgettable experience on boar
