Mike was born and raised in London before spending 4 years in Leeds for university. After gaining a Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering he decided to search for slightly warmer climates, ending up in Australia for a year before becoming a dive instructor, working his way up to Staff Instructor. He worked for 3 years between Thailand, Honduras and Indonesia, teaching everything from beginner to instructor level courses. He has been working on yachts since 2019 and joined Aqua Lares early 2025. As well as scuba diving, he is a certified sky diver and splits his free time between rebreather diving, cave diving and safely exiting aircraft at high altitudes.

João is originally from Peniche, Portugal, a town known for its strong maritime heritage, which has deeply influenced his passion for the ocean. Coming from a family of seafarers, he feels at home on the water and brings that same comfort and confidence to every journey at sea. He is calm, approachable, and dedicated, and he’s a reassuring and positive presence onboard Aqua Lares. In his free time, João enjoys fishing, hiking, and diving, always seeking new adventures above and
below the surface.

Garry is originally from Glasgow but now lives in Palma, he was a charter captain in Ibiza before relocating to Palma to further his involvement in yachting.
He’s a fitness enthusiast and enjoys the physicality of the job and guests excursions.

Bianca grew up in Pretoria South Africa, but in 2017 Cape Town became home. She joined the yachting industry in 2016 and have worked on yachts ranging from 45 to 95 meters. After a few years in the industry, she realised her passion and strengths laid in the housekeeping department. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, exercising, spending time with friends and family, exploring new countries and their cuisine. Bianca is extremely excited for the itinerary ahead.

Dan is a second-generation seafarer, following the same calling heard by both his father and uncle. With almost half of his life spent in the merchant navy as an engineer on a variety of vessels, from hospital ships to nuclear fuel carriers, Dan made the decision to explore the yachting industry and found success joining Legend. He looks forward to traveling to the most remote parts of the world while providing a high level of service to Aqua Lares’s guests. His hobbies include cycling, hiking, and competitive computer games. In his downtime, Dan can be found reading or listening to music.

Skye’s a true Kiwi who grew up right by the ocean in Tasman, NZ. After ditching the desk job, she found herself working in the wild and beautiful Fiordland, where her love for remote places really took off. With guest service experience both on land and at sea, Skye is ecstatic to join Aqua Lares and her crew providing excellent experiences in spectacular places.

Growing up on the coastline, Iris has always known life by the sea and after 4 years of working in a beauty salon, Iris decided to leave her hometown, join the yachting industry and explore the world. She successfully finished London Wellness Academy where she specialized in many body and facial treatments. When Iris is not pampering guests on board, you can find her on a beautiful Croatian coast, enjoying life with her family and friends.

Pierre is from New Zealand where he studied to be a chef in a culinary institute, then allowed his career to take him all over the world, most recently Spain & Scotland. He has been a professional chef for 10 years and has continued his passion of developing not only in his culinary knowledge but also many other interests, whether it may be art, drawing, sailing & Scuba diving.

Carys grew up in a small town in the South West of Devon, England. She has always loved the outdoors having had horses from a young age. Carys has an outgoing, bubbly personality and has always been eager to try new things. With the town where she grew up being very small and isolating, she always imagined herself travelling and seeing exciting new places. Having a background in hospitality, Carys looked at ways to do a job she loves but which also allowed her to travel. Joining Legend as a temp worker end of last year she got just a small insight on what yachting was like. Coming back a few months later, she is extremely excited to be able to be a part of the Aqua Lares Crew and have the opportunity to see these incredible, remote destinations.

Matt was born in Scotland in a small seaside town on the West coast of Scotland. The urge for travel and adventure was sparked in his early years having lived in both USA and Japan for over six years combined. He started his career at sea in his late 20s making a jump from the world of IT to the Merchant Navy, where he qualified and began working for NMM on various deep sea oil tankers. He then transitioned to the yachting industry working on 140m Ocean Victory for 5 years before joining Legend in 2023. His hobbies include golf, snowboarding and hiking which he now has on his doorstep living in Pennsylvania, USA.
