Captain Dave Scallan grew up by the sea in a charming coastal town in South East Ireland, where sailing quickly became second nature. A Mechanical Engineering graduate and Senior Instructor with the Irish Sailing Association, Dave blended technical skill with a lifelong love of the ocean. Before yachting, he travelled widely, teaching and directing sailing at clubs across Ireland and at the Southern Yacht Club in New Orleans. He later joined the superyacht world, cruising Spain, Italy, Greece, and beyond, before settling in the Caribbean as captain of yachts including Dragonfly and Lagoon Spirit. With over 60,000 miles at sea, Dave’s favourite adventures are ocean crossings, but what he enjoys most is hosting guests and creating unforgettable memories on the water. Warm, fun, and endlessly enthusiastic, he loves wakeboarding, rugby, skiing, and scuba diving — and says the Caribbean, with its turquoise seas and easy smiles, is his favourite place on earth.

Tiaan grew up in Cape Town, boating and sailing along the Cape of Good Hope from Saldanha Bay to False Bay. After starting a career in transport and later manufacturing with Food Lovers, he followed his love of the ocean into yachting. For the past two and a half years, he’s explored the Caribbean from the USVI and BVI down through the Grenadines. A Stellenbosch graduate in Business Management, Tiaan is an energetic, hands-on deckhand who thrives on snorkeling, wakeboarding, tubing, and skiing. Qualified as a Yachtmaster Offshore with STCW, Powerboat Level 2, and AEC 1 & 2, he brings skill and enthusiasm to every charter. His favourite escape is South Africa’s Cederberg mountains, and what he loves most about yachting is its camaraderie, adventure, and creating memorable experiences for guests.

Jess has extensive experience as a yacht chef who discovered the world of food in 2015 when she started working onboard luxury yachts up to 80" in the BVI. She has completed multiple chef courses as well as courses specialising in nutrition, Plant Based Diet and most recently completed a 12 week chef program at the world renowned Balleymaloe Cooking School in Ireland. Jess looks forward to welcoming you on board and to share her passion for food with you through creating an amazing food experience suited to you and your guests.

Julie brings four years of yachting experience combined with a genuine passion for guest care and hospitality. Originally from France, she holds two Master’s degrees in Non-Profit Management and Internal Audit, Monitoring & Consulting. Before entering the yachting industry, Julie spent several years in Southeast Asia teaching scuba diving while travelling extensively and volunteering with different organizations.

An active and adventurous spirit, Julie enjoys hiking, trekking, freediving, scuba diving, boxing, yoga, and dancing. Over the last two seasons, she worked aboard the Sunreef 80 Eco Otoctone, cruising the South of France, Corsica, and Sardinia. Her favourite place in the world is Koh Phangan in the Gulf of Thailand, where she lived and taught diving for four years. Julie loves creating a warm onboard atmosphere, exceeding guest expectations, and discovering new destinations through sailing.

Born by the sea, Sofía’s life has always been guided by adventure and a dedication to excellence. She began her career early, gaining experience in investment management, finance, accounting, event management, and yachting before embracing her true calling as a yacht captain. Combining her love for the ocean with a warm, professional approach, she creates memorable, welcoming experiences for guests on board. An accomplished adventurer and fitness enthusiast, Sofía has rowed across the Atlantic, cycled between countries, and competes in triathlon and rowing events. Her fearless spirit and strong hospitality focus make her an inspiring leader both on and off the water. Passionate about sharing the beauty of the sea, Sofía is happiest helping guests discover new horizons while delivering an unforgettable charter experience.
