Jade is an outgoing and bubbly individual. She takes great pride in her work ethic, displaying loyalty and reliability. With extensive experience working on yachts including M/Y Sud and M/Y Sabbatical, where she was the Chief Stewardess, leading the interior team with proficiency during busy owner and charter trips. Her comprehensive knowledge spans all areas of the interior department, ensuring that everyone on board enjoys a comfortable and well-cared-for experience. Jade joined M/Y BIG CHANGE II this season, eager to deliver outstanding hospitality and service while surpassing the guests’ expectations.

Carla has worked in the hospitality industry since 2021. Before joining the yacht industry, she worked for two large event companies, where she played a vital role in event preparation, including setup, waitressing, bar and cocktail service, and assisting with planning. Her experience extends to working at a hotel and beach club in Mexico, where she excelled as a guest entertainer, organising tours to local landmarks and running engaging cocktail classes. Carla’s passion for hospitality, combined with her love for travel, led her to the yacht industry where she started her first job on board M/Y Sabbatical, working alongside Jade, the Chief Stewardess. Carala is dedicated to creating memorable experiences for both guests and crew and is excited to bring her creativity to the table, designing stunning table centrepieces and crafting delicious cocktails.

Hailing from Canada, Captain Kevin epitomizes the essence of maritime expertise and leadership. With nearly a decade of commanding experience, he has navigated the waters of both sailing and motor yachts, ranging from the 28-meter Pegasus IX to the 35-meter sailing catamaran Che. Kevin’s tenure includes overseeing bustling dual-season charter programs, a role he excelled in for over two years, earning a glowing reference from the former owner. His extensive voyages have bestowed upon him profound knowledge of the Bahamas, Caribbean, USA, and the Mediterranean, complemented by numerous Atlantic Ocean crossings. Kevin's dedication to guest satisfaction is unwavering, always striving to ensure a delightful and comfortable experience onboard and will always go the extra mile in making sure the guests have a wonderful time. Before embarking on his maritime journey, Kevin honed his skills as a Professional Manufacturing Engineer and Business Manager. Beyond his maritime prowess, he has many personal attributes, including serving as a sailing and powerboat instructor, a PADI-certified Scuba Diving instructor, and a captivating musician with his guitar and vocal talents. Kevin joins M/Y BIG CHANGE II in 2024 and looks forward to welcoming the guests aboard and curating an unforgettable holiday experience tailored just for them.
Elliot is a keen sailor and has been sailing on the Atlantic Ocean that surrounds his home in Namibia for nearly 10 years. He has a has a Level 3 Dinghy Instructors certification and has completed many national championships on a range of sail boats such as Lasers, Hobie Cats and Picos. Elliot has lived as an expatriate in commonwealth countries for most of his life, experiencing the lifestyles, customs and traditions of others as well as having a multicultural education that has given him excellent communication skills to utilise across different cultures. In 2022 he joined the yacht industry on board the 52m Benetti M/Y Vianne, this was for the summer season, where he gained a wealth of experience on this busy private and charter yacht. Prior to joining M/Y BIG CHANGE II this season, he had worked onboard the 110m Lurssen M/Y Al Raya for over a year. Elliot is looking forward to the season ahead and helping create a fun and enjoyable holiday for the guests stepping onboard M/Y BIG CHANGE II.
Elliot Oosthuizen

Growing up on the coast of Venezuela, Fabio started to develop his skills as a sailor whilst helping his Father with the maintenance and care of his boats. He participated in the local sailing school and manned a 33ft Coppola family boat as well as a 40ft Baleares. Over the years he has had experience driving tenders, including his own 28ft Beretta. Fabio is a positive and outgoing individual, managing his time wisely and focusing on improving his abilities to become a competent sailor. In his spare time Fabio enjoys playing various sports and keeping active through Cross-fit. Running and managing his health and fitness are essential to his wellbeing. Fabio has decided to take yachting up as his chosen profession as this is what he is happiest doing and keen to climb the ranks and build upon his experience. Fabio joined BIG CHANGE II in Spring 2022.
Andrew is a conscientious and professional engineer and has a wealth of experience in refits, maintenance, and engineering roles throughout his career. With over 35 years of experience on various boats of different sizes and 15 years specifically in the yacht industry, he brings extensive expertise to the team. Andrew has been a Chief Engineer on both motor and sail yachts and has worked on the likes of 40m S/Y Kokotea, 30m S/Y Child of Lir and 40m S/Y Ocean Pure 2. This season, he joins M/Y BIG CHANGE II, diligently working behind the scenes to ensure all systems and equipment operate flawlessly, allowing the guests to enjoy a seamless and delightful experience. When Andrew is not hard at work, he takes part in the J24 sailing racing on the Plymouth circuit in the South of England, he also enjoys scuba diving and a spot of football and volleyball.
Andrew Parkinson

Matthew has over 6 + years of experience working in the yacht industry, he has completed over 3500nm as a Skipper along the coast of South Africa and has over 17 years of sailing experience. With a strong work ethic and determination, his goal is to progress through the ranks of the yachting world to one day becoming a Captain himself. During his time working onboard motor yachts, he has worked on the likes of 17m M/Y Why Not a Princess 58, 30m M/Y Thetis a Pearl 95 and most recently 27m S/Y Adesa a Fitzroy. He joins M/Y BIG CHANGE II this season and is excited at the prospect of working on board and continuing to further his knowledge. Outside of work Matthew’s hobbies and interests include weight training, Karate where he has achieved a Black Belt JKA Karate certification, working with engines and climatology.
