Richard grew up in the UK and was always around boats, either on a dingy or the yacht his father owned. He has always had an engineering type brain, as growing up he preferred being in the workshop using his hands and tools as opposed to sitting in the classroom.
Having worked in the industry for over 20 years he has working on over 12 yachts for a year or more, three of them whereover 50m sailing yachts which competed in the different cup races. He has travelled from the Caribbean to Gibraltar with no engines, so nothing but the wind, the ocean & his thoughts to carry him through. Other highlights include diving in amazing places such as the Maldives, Bora Bora, the Great Barrier Reef & Seychelles.
In his spare time, he has done lots of his own sailing worldwide on smaller yachts. After living in Australia for a year of general nomadic drifting, he has now made his way back to the UK with his partner and three-year-old daughter and back on board superyachts.
