Meet Daphne, a born and raised Dutch woman who followed in the footsteps of her grandfather, uncle, and father by pursuing a career in Hotel Management. After graduating from school, she worked at several luxurious five-star hotels in Amsterdam before starting her yachting career with Calypso I just a year ago.

When she’s not working, Daphne enjoys spending time outdoors, travelling, and cruising the seas, which she considers her happy place. She cherishes her time spent with family and friends and loves creating new memories with them.
Last year, Daphne had the opportunity to spend a spectacular season in Norway, where she met many happy charter guests and made unforgettable memories.

She is now eagerly anticipating another incredible Mediterranean season onboard Calypso I and can’t wait to share her passion for hospitality and adventure with the guests.

James Started in the yachting industry 8 years ago. He was born in the west of Ireland and has always been passionate about the sea. James is a keen sports enthusiast and likes to stay fit and active. During his free time he likes to travel and discover new countries with his wife.

Growing up on the beaches of the Southernmost part of New Zealand, Mikayla has always had a love for the ocean. After highschool she went to university and earned a bachelor's degree in Primary School teaching. Once qualified Mikayla made the move to London and taught there for 2 years whilst also exploring this side of the world. Upon returning home to New Zealand she decided to follow her passion and love for being on the water and joined the yachting industry in 2022. She spends her time in the off season travelling the world and making trips home to visit friends and family.

Ian has been sailing since a young age, but his first career was in the British Fire Service, where he served in the West Midlands, and Hereford and Worcester Brigades, leaving after 9 years as a Brigade Instructor. Since 1999 he has worked in the yachting industry, spending a lot of his time teaching others and delivering both sailing and motor yachts. Due to Ian’s passion for teaching he was invited to become an Examiner for the Royal Yachting Association, and is the Author of the RYA Essential Navigation and Safety Course with the accompanying handbook. To date Ian has done 29 Atlantic crossings and One Indian Ocean Crossing, having accumulated over 250,000 sea miles all over the world. This is Ian’s sixth season as Captain onboard Calypso I, and he has been responsible for four successful back to back charter seasons so far, with season six ready to go.
Ian is married to Lia, has two children Filipe and Lewis and his interests include an appreciation for wine, Formula 1, travelling and teaching others.

Jordan started his career in the commercial industry and completed his 3.5-year apprenticeship with RB Shipping. During this time, he realized his love for the sea and the allure of the yachting industry. Intrigued by the unique lifestyle and the opportunities to explore different destinations, Jordan decided to take the leap and switch to the yachting industry.

Jordan’s passion for the water extends beyond his professional career. He is an avid scuba diver and enjoys all water sports, from surfing to paddleboarding. He also has a love for adventure sports, such as snowboarding, and can often be found seeking out the next thrill.

With his adventurous spirit and eagerness to learn, Jordan is excited to join the team on Calypso I for his first yachting season. He’s looking forward to the challenges that come with the job and embracing the changes that come with working in a new environment. With his positive attitude and willingness to take on any task, Jordan is sure to make a great addition to the crew.

Simon has dedicated his career to the hospitality industry, honing his craft in restaurant and bar management for Disney before moving on to become a director at a highly reputed Parisian restaurant. As the chef, Simon developed a deep understanding of the culinary arts and gained an extensive knowledge of the intricacies involved in running a successful eatery. In 2021, Simon decided to embark on a new adventure, joining the yachting industry as an on-board chef. He brings with him a wealth of expertise in various cuisines and enjoys using fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced produce to create dishes that tantalize the taste buds of his guests. Simon’s passion for food extends beyond his professional life, as he enjoys exploring new culinary experiences and immersing himself in different gastronomies. He is also an avid wine and spirits enthusiast and has a keen interest in popular culture, football, and Formula1. Simon is happily married to his wife Valerie, and together, they have two daughters. Fluent in French, he currently resides in the charming town of Antibes, where he looks forward to embracing the local culture and lifestyle. Simon is excited about the upcoming season and the opportunities it presents to showcase his skills and creativity as a chef while satisfying the culinary desires of his guests.
