Captain Toby was born in the United Kingdom. At a young age he left to travel Australia and SE Asia, entering the yachting world in 2005 as a Dive Instructor and proceeded to spend the next 10 years circumnavigating the globe on a 305' sailing yacht, once the largest in the world. He has since achieved 170,000 nautical miles, exploring many remote and off the beaten track destinations including Indonesia, Myanmar, French Polynesia and the Islands of Pacific such as Vanuatu, Galapagos, and Cocos, to mention a few. Captain Toby has been in command for the last 7 years, operating privately and now well-known charter yachts across the USA, Bahamas, Caribbean and Med. Throughout his 20 year career, he has honed the skills necessary to provide a five-star experience to all guests. His friendly and approachable personality ensures everyone onboard enjoys a memorable charter experience. His attention to detail and creativity means guest can relax knowing their experience is exhaustively considered and executed across all departments. Toby's home base is in South Africa, where he is a parent to two young children. During his free time, he enjoys flea markets, galleries, eating out, fishing, golf, and generally enjoying a humble life with his children.

Hailing from the picturesque coasts of New Zealand, Captain Scott Ryan brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to his role aboard *Chasing Daylight*. In his early 20s, Scott spent summers in the USA as a watersports instructor, sharing his expertise in kayaking, waterskiing, and wakeboarding with aspiring adventurers. He later completed a Bachelor of Commerce, blending his business acumen with his love for the sea when he transitioned into the yachting industry.
Scott has been steadily climbing the ranks since earning his Master of Yachts certification in 2019. Known for his passion for hospitality and navigation, he is dedicated to ensuring the safety and enjoyment of both guests and crew. His leadership style reflects his commitment to creating unforgettable experiences, with a focus on professionalism and service excellence. When not at the helm, Scott’s adventurous spirit shines through. He can often be found surfing the waves, wakeboarding, or, more recently, perfecting his golf swing. His enthusiasm for life on and off the water makes him a well-rounded captain who leads with skill, passion, and a genuine love for the yachting lifestyle. Whether navigating pristine waters or helping guests explore thrilling activities, Captain Scott ensures every journey aboard *Chasing Daylight* is truly exceptional.

Nic was born and raised in South Africa, attended boarding school and university there before starting his yachting career in 2017. Yachting has taken Nic to many destinations such as, the Adriatic Sea, Mediterranean, up the English Channel, across the Atlantic, Bahamas, Caribbean, Panama Canal, Costa Rica, Mexico, the West and East Coast of the USA and Alaska which was Nic’s absolute favorite spot. Nic has been very fortunate to work predominantly on charter boats and takes pride and joy giving guests the best possible experience while onboard. Nic is very easy going, loves to golf, hike, fish and scuba dive. At any opportunity he will spend time outside with groups of friends from all around the world. Nic is recently engaged to his fiancé from Michigan, his father living in England and South Africa being his home, he loves to joke and talk about the world and different cultures

Ella was born in the South West of England in a town called Taunton.
From a young age Ella has worked closely with children and adults with learning disabilities and aspires to give everyone the best quality of life. She has taken this approach into her yachting career, hoping to give our guests the best experience and service onboard. Ella joined the industry in 2021 during the challenging times of the pandemic, aspiring to fulfill her travel ambitions. She grew up playing lots of sports at county level and even played basketball for the south west of England, continuing on to coach the sport. In Ella’s spare time she enjoys going to a coffee shop, getting lost in a book for hours, followed by a long walk and exploring new destinations.

Coco is her preferred nickname back home with her family and now onboard with her new friends. She grew up in Hawaii for the first 11 years of her life. Where her passion for exploring, traveling and her love for the ocean first began. While attending school back home in Los Angeles, California she worked at a local golf course as a cart attendant and an event planner. Since graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Recreation Management, she pursued her ambitions as a yacht stewardess in 2020. As a fitness enthusiast, she enjoys staying active, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and learning about different cultures and backgrounds. In her free time, she enjoys trying new workout routines, hiking scenic trails and exploring new destinations. As a stewardess, she loves to have the opportunity to interact with people from all over the world and finds it incredibly fulfilling to provide exceptional service while creating lasting memories for our guests.

Ella grew up moving around the USA & Italy and has embraced the nomadic lifestyle since a young age. Ella is always open to new adventures and experiences, which lead her to pursue her yachting career in 2020. Ella is happy shaking up a cocktail or tackling an outdoor activity helping out, wherever she can showcase her diverse skillset. Whether Ella is balancing on a slackline, teaching yoga, shaping clay into beautiful creations, or discovering hidden gems around the globe, she finds a creative inspiration in every experience.

Daniel was born in Leicester, England where he trained in a variety of Michelin starred restaurants across the UK. Daniel began his career in yachting 6 years ago with a huge passion for all things food; from health and nutrition to fine dining, tasting menus, patisserie and baking. A true Gourmet. He has been part of several successful charter programs to which he add his unique style and flair. Daniel loves to work with guests to curate a truly personalized cooking experience, creating bespoke dishes based on seasonal, high quality produce and catered around your preferences. In his spare time loves to keep fit running an working out. He loves to travel, escape to a retreat and explore different cultures and experience authentic world-wide cuisine. He is a passionate person and enjoys talking about health and wellbeing, meditation and all things wholesome.

Andreas was born in Gothenburg on the Swedish West Coast and fell in love with the ocean at an early age. No wonder he later moved to Australia to become a dive instructor and dive the Great Barrier Reef. He also ran a dive center in Thailand, but soon realized working on boats and living at sea was his calling. Andreas moved on to get a bachelor's degree in marine engineering and has worked on everything from small dive boats to oil tankers, container ships, and one of the world's biggest cruise ships, before transitioning to yachting in 2021. On his time off, Andreas loves to travel and explore new places. You will most likely find him on the beach listening to music or playing his guitar.

Wian (pronounced with a V), was born in Cape Town, Soth Africa. He spent his childhood on the lovely white sandy beaches of the Cape in the background of table Mountain. Spending time in the big city at a younger age, he thrived getting back to the ocean and joined yachting to use his land based skills in the engineering department. He is experienced in driving large tenders and is a capable seaman on the water. He has spent time in the Pacific Island and has explored many other off the beaten track regions. When he’s not working you can find him in the gym, at the beach soaking up the sun, or restoring classic cars.

2nd Engineer & Deckhand

Felix grew up in Durban, South Africa and spent most of his childhood outdoors. After completing his BA degree he spent a year in Tokyo, Japan before returning back to South Africa to further his studies. He has recently found his way into yachting and loves the physicality of the work when compared to several years of working behind a desk. In his free time you will find him hiking outdoors and exploring his passion for photography. He loves to engage with guests and create memorable and authentic experiences around the world.
