Captain Mark grew up in London and after a few years of travelling to all corners of the globe, he first became involved with yachting on the sun kissed shores of San Diego, California, back in 1985. Mark has an extensive knowledge of the Mediterranean, having both lived and worked in the area for over 31 years. With this knowledge and his solid experience in the yachting industry he is extremely able and professional. He puts the customer first and aims to always provide you and your guests with a charter experience you will never forget.

Mark Horsnail
Captain
Emma grew up in a family of keen sailors, and after graduating from Penn State University with a degree in History, and a minor in Geography, she followed her dream into yachting, landing her first role as a stewardess. Since then, she has gained valuable experience on a variety of private yachts across the Mediterranean, progressing quickly through the ranks and taking on additional responsibilities such as service leadership, accounts management, and winter refit projects.
Her calm, kind-hearted nature and adaptable approach make her a wonderful presence on board. With strong service skills she thrives on creating memorable experiences for guests. Emma is also a trained mixologist and holds a WSET Level 2 Award in Wines, adding an extra touch of flair to her service. Away from work, she enjoys photography, writing, and time on the water, whether sailing, swimming, or simply being in the ocean environment that feels like home

Emma Lutz

Edward began his maritime career in the UK, working as a junior engineer on narrow boats before stepping into yachting, where his technical skill and determination soon set him apart. He has since gained hands-on experience on prestigious yachts across the Mediterranean and North Sea, working his way up and most recently operating as both 2nd and rotational Chief Engineer, developing his expertise with complex engineering systems and working towards his EOOW certification.
With a strong aptitude for troubleshooting, planned maintenance, and system optimization, Edward is reliable and forward-thinking. He brings an enthusiastic, can-do attitude to every task, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes for guests to enjoy their time on board. Outside of work, Edward enjoys sailing, hiking, and archery, as well as graphic design and painting. He also has a keen interest in new technology, making him both innovative and adaptable in his professional role.

Edward Allingham
Engineer
Originally from the UK, Alex has been at sea since his cadetship in 2014, gaining experience across cruise ships, offshore vessels, and ferries before transitioning to yachting in 2019. With a decade of experience and over 40 successful charters to his name, he has worked his way up from OOW to Chief Officer and now holds a Chief Mate 3000 licence and Master 3000 modules.
Alex brings a practical, hands-on approach to leadership—he enjoys getting stuck in with the deck team and values teamwork, communication, and maintaining high morale. Known for his proactive attitude, he is equally comfortable on the bridge or leading deck operations. Outside of work, he is an active adventurer with a passion for watersports, skiing, rugby, and travel. Always eager to grow, Alex is committed to professional development and adding value to his team.

Stephanie brings a dynamic mix of elegance, warmth, and leadership to her role as Chief Stewardess. Her experience spans an exceptionally busy 53m charter yacht, a role as General Manager at a luxury five-star ski chalet in the Austrian Alps, and time spent as a travelling PA for a high-net-worth couple.
Always with a smile on her face, Stephanie has a keen eye for detail and a strong work ethic. She runs a tight, detail-oriented interior while maintaining an upbeat and welcoming atmosphere. She genuinely cares about the guest experience, ensuring every element is handled with finesse. Known for her adaptability, creative flair, and polished service standards, Stephanie is a natural host. Off duty, she enjoys staying active, exploring new places, and immersing herself in different cultures. She can’t wait to welcome you on board and help you feel right at home.

Born in South Africa, Paige brings a strong background in guest service and hospitality. Her journey into yachting began with M/Y SOUTH, where she quickly progressed from daywork to a full-time role. Since then, she has developed a diverse skill set through positions on both private and charter vessels, thriving in fast-paced environments and earning a reputation for her attention to detail, professionalism, and upbeat attitude.
Originally trained as a hairstylist, Paige has also worked as a swim coach and personal trainer. Passionate about fitness and wellness, she stays active and enjoys exploring new destinations. Her calm, capable presence and dedication to providing excellent service make her a fantastic addition to the EMERALD team.

Paige Mauer
Stewardess
Ivica was born and raised in Dubrovnik. During childhood years he was always connected with the sea, enjoying water sports and fishing activities. After finishing his education as a graduated marine engineer, he started his maritime career in 2002 on cargo ships. He circumnavigated the world few times in the upcoming years working on various types of vessels. As of 2012, he took a new challenge as a yacht engineer and stayed in yachting ever since. Ivica is always at your service, making sure that everything runs smoothly during your stay on board. As a married family man, he spends most of his free time kayaking with the kids, with occasional spearfishing catch for dinner

Ivica Cumbelic

McKenzie grew up on shores of Auckland, New Zealand constantly surrounded by the ocean and from that his passion was born. Before joining the yachting world, McKenzie worked in distribution/logistics and event management, gaining experience that has proven valuable in his current role. His background in these areas has helped him develop a practical, hands-on approach to tasks on board.
Outside of work, McKenzie enjoys exploring new areas through running and spending time at the beach when he can. As part of the team aboard EMERALD, McKenzie is focused on providing a smooth and enjoyable experience for guests. He is dedicated to assisting with various duties, ensuring everything runs efficiently, and being available for any support guests may need.

Matthew is our positive and hardworking Lead Deckhand with a passion for yachting. Embarking on his yachting career in 2022, he was thrown in the deep end, as the head of a search and rescue team on a tender. Always one to take on a challenge he proved he has a calm head in a crisis and thrived. Since then he went on to work on larger yachts, both private and charter, and consistently took on more responsibility. Matthew is passionate about the industry and keen to progress and to that end he has recently attained his IYT MASTER OF YACHTS 200GT/OOW 500GT. When not on deck you’ll find him on the water enjoying a variety of watersports, fishing and water polo.

Matthew Mark Daley

Michael is from South Africa and, before entering the world of yachting in 2023, spent over 10 years serving and managing in the high-end hospitality industry. This notably included his role as Assistant General Manager, working towards achieving 2 Michelin stars. With a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Hotel Management, extensive experience in the restaurant industry, and a proven ability to thrive in high-pressure environments, he excels at both delivering high-quality service and managing crew.
After experiencing life at sea in 2017 as a sommelier for the 3 Michelin-star restaurant on the Seabourn Encore, he couldn’t resist the call of the waves. He has returned to the sea, this time as a deckhand. His broad skill set, drive for excellence, and warm, professional approach make him an asset to the team. While he maintains a deep appreciation for fine dining and cocktails, when not on duty, he enjoys watersports and is eager to help guests make the most of the toys on board.
