Growing up by the sea on Australia’s Mornington Peninsula, Phil’s love for boating began at an early age and set the course for a life on the water. Before leaving Australia in 1995 to work as a chef in a Canadian ski resort, he refined his culinary talents for five years in a Michelin-starred restaurant. This dedication to excellence continues today, as Phil ensures that only the finest chefs join the galley team on 'H. In 2004, Phil embarked on a sabbatical, purchasing a sailing yacht and setting off on an extended ocean adventure. That journey not only deepened his love for the sea but also brought him back with renewed passion for yachting. With more than three decades of maritime experience and countless ports visited, Phil is now a seasoned and respected captain. Among his favorite destinations are the Caribbean island of Bequia and Croatia’s Dalmatian coast, though Switzerland also holds a special place on his travel list. As Build Captain of 'H, Phil knows the yacht inside and out—from the hull and engineering to the pillow stitching and thread count of the linens. His leadership style blends humor, warmth, and camaraderie, creating a positive crew environment that instantly translates into a welcoming atmosphere for guests. Children are naturally drawn to his playful side, while adults appreciate his easygoing charm and engaging presence. Phil lives by his motto: “Say yes, then figure out how to make it happen!” When off rotation, he can often be found exploring the Australian Outback, camping beneath the stars, or tackling rugged 4x4 adventures. With Phil at the helm, every journey aboard 'H is assured to be unforgettable.

Taryn grew up on a small farm in South Africa, where she quickly learned two valuable life lessons: animals make the best companions, and there’s no such thing as too much fresh air. With a Diploma in Equine Science and a Personal Training certification, she’s proof that both horses and humans listen when she’s in charge. Add eight years in sales to the mix, and you’ve got someone who can anticipate needs before you even know you have them. She takes great pride in keeping things organized and delivering service with a smile. When she’s not looking after guests, you’ll find her outdoors, on horseback, in the gym, or enjoying good food with good company — preferably all at once.

Max’s story begins in the salty air of Antigua, born under the Caribbean sun before trading one coast for another in Sydney, Australia. Growing up with the ocean as his backyard, he spent his youth sailing, fishing, and dominating the field in division 1 soccer and state cricket. The seeds of his career were planted early, listening to his parents’ tales of running yachts through the 80s and 90s. What started as a post-high school gap year turned into a lifelong obsession during a single, quiet delivery from Antigua to Sint Martin. Under that Caribbean night sky, Max didn't just find a job; he found his calling. Max has become a true veteran of the sea. He has crossed the Atlantic Ocean thirteen times, navigating the vast blue and mastering the discipline required for long-haul voyaging. His career has seen him at the helm of everything from 20m sail boats to 60m superyachts, managing the complex logistics of luxury and safety across the world’s most iconic waters. Since then, Max has navigated the world’s most iconic waters—from the rugged Canadian Arctic to the sun-drenched Mediterranean and both coasts of the US. But Max brings more than just nautical expertise; he brings a hunger for the authentic. He is a connoisseur of the "hidden gems," the kind of places you only find by talking to locals in a seaside taverna or a back-alley bistro. When he isn’t at the helm, Max is usually found deep in his three greatest passions: exploring local cuisine, hiking the nearest peak, or catching the game. He doesn’t just see the world; he tastes it, and that global perspective is the secret ingredient in every trip he takes you on.
