Matt grew up on the coast of Florida, enjoying life by the water. He played baseball professionally, which helped him develop a great “team player” attitude—an essential trait within such a close-knit crew. When he "retired" at 22, Matt turned his sights toward the sea and travel. After being in the industry for over 12 years, Matt has learned the ropes as a deckhand and worked his way up to captain. Yachting has taken him all over the world, and his summer cruising in Alaska allowed him to explore more of British Columbia and the West Coast of Central America (where he picked up a little Spanish). When Matt has time off, he keeps himself busy fishing, surfing, and diving as much as possible. He’s very active and likes to go on morning runs. If you ask him nicely, he might even do a few backflips for you!
