Born and raised on the East coast of Southern Africa AKA the dolphin coast, Kayla’s demeanour is as sweet as a pineapple, which happens to be her most favorite fruit. Kayla was a dancer growing up, and then transitioned into a career as an Account Manager for Spotify after earning her Marketing degree. Driven by a desire to explore the world and pursuing creative outlets, she ventured into the yachting industry, where she’s now been for a couple of years and loving every minute of it. Kayla is passionate about children, travel, and soaking up the sun. Her infectious energy keeps her active – she also happens to be a qualified Pilates instructor! With a warm and friendly personality, she loves connecting with guests and is dedicated to making their experience on board memorable.

Byron is a former high school math teacher and sports coach, born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. He has always been a water baby, being a competitive swimmer and water polo player. His attraction to water led him to scuba diving, where he developed his true passion for the ocean. His trips to the beaches of South Africa and Mozambique influenced a change in lifestyle, and Byron found his way into the yachting industry. Since his start in the industry in 2017, Byron committed himself to constant development and strives to move up in the industry and be captain one day.

Liam grew up in the coastal town of Salt Rock, South Africa, where he developed a deep love for the ocean. His childhood was filled with surfing and fishing, so it was only natural that he would eventually make the decision to pursue a career in yachting.
Before entering the yachting industry, Liam completed his tertiary education in Durban. In 2022, he joined Motor Yacht Turquoise and has since worked his way up from junior deckhand to bosun, gaining valuable experience along the way. With his passion for the sea and his strong work ethic, Liam is committed to building a long-term career in yachting.

Known for being highly motivated and enthusiastic, Tamica brings to M/Y HOLDIN' MY OWN three years of maritime experience as a housekeeping stewardess. Tamica thrives in maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness and guest comfort. She enjoys dynamic, fast-paced work environments. Her hobbies include, health and wellness, swimming, snorkeling, hiking and interior decorating. Tamica looks forward to contributing to the charter experience on board M/Y HOLDIN' MY OWN her strong organizational skills as well as a high level of pride she takes in her work.

As soon as Ellie finished her education in Southampton, her lust for adventure sent her to the most beautiful islands in the UK, the Isles of Scilly, where she worked in the most prestigious hotels, fine-tuning her service skills, which would become invaluable in the years to come. There she met a man who introduced her to the world of superyachts, showing she could combine her love for the outdoors, the ocean and her desire to travel with the fulfillment of creating the most memorable and exciting holidays for guests. Patrick is originally from South Africa. He knew at a young age that he had a passion for travelling and in 2010 started his yachting career. Pat has progressed through his career, completing his Master 3000-GT license in 2018. Since then Pat has been gaining invaluable experience as a Chief Officer on a large yacht, cruising areas the likes of the Maldives, Australia, Mediterranean and Caribbean. With a focus on safety and providing excellent guest service, he is a career-minded mariner with a professional outlook. Pat has always had a passion for general fitness and mountain biking, and has recently taken up running. Pat’s hobbies and passions have allowed him to travel and explore new locations around the world.

Bryn grew up in Zimbabwe and did his schooling at a boarding school just outside the country's capital. Sport and education were a major part of growing up at a boarding school, which gave Bryn the ability to join different team environments and get along with different characters and personalities. He then left Zimbabwe to obtain a Hospitality Management Diploma in Cape Town. This is where he found out he wanted to embark on a yachting career.
Bryn joined the yachting industry in 2017 with his first job in Indonesia, which then took him to places a boy from a landlocked country would have never dreamed of going. Bryn started yachting to travel and experience different cultures around the world. Also, the industry allows Bryn to progress and challenge himself in different ways as he makes his way through the industry.

Hamish grew up in the Hawkes Bay of New Zealand, which is home to some of New Zealand’s finest wineries. This is where Hamish found his love for cooking. Having completed a three year apprenticeship at Craggy Range Winery, Hamish gained experience and started to cook his way around the World, working in some of Europe's top Michelin kitchens.
Hamish worked at the prestige restaurant Noma in Copenhagen for 18 months as Senior Chef de Partie. At the time, Noma was voted the no.1 restaurant in the World. This improved his skills massively, and he felt ready for the yachting industry. He is in his 11th year and has worked on vessels between 40 and 80 meters. The cuisine of Hamish consists of light natural seafood-based dishes with Nordic and Asian flavors. He enjoys baking and loves a good dessert. In the future, he plans to open a casual restaurant - location unknown.

Jacques grew up in the small coastal town of Langebaan on South Africa’s West Coast, where he developed a passion for diving, fishing, and sailing. With his love for the water, working in the yachting industry felt like a natural fit—it's truly a home away from home for him.
Jacques is committed to building a long-term career in yachting, with the goal of one day becoming a Captain. Recently, he completed his OOW and Chief Mate qualifications, earning him a well-deserved promotion to Chief Officer from his previous role as Bosun.

Donne was born in Johannesburg but now calls Cape Town her home. While studying a bachelor’s degree in Education, Donne worked at the exclusive fine dining restaurant Rust en Vrede’ where she discovered her love for hospitality and decided to transition into the superyacht Industry. With over 6 years of experience, combined with her passion for leadership and high-end service, Donne is dedicated to making your stay as pleasant and unforgettable as possible onboard M/Y HOLDIN' MY OWN.
