Captain Gaffley has been working in the yachting industry since 2005. With over 18 years of experience, he has worked on yachts from 100’ to 200'+. He enjoys traveling the world, not just by boat but also by motorcycle and has ridden across the United States via Route 66. In his off time, he enjoys time with family and friends. His first love is of course, yachting! John was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa where he spent eight years as an air traffic controller until a visit to Ft Lauderdale introduced him to the world of yachting. He has worked extensively on various mega yachts throughout the Bahamas, Exuma Islands, Caribbean, and South Florida. His favorite cruising area is the Exuma’s due to its tranquil and untouched nature. In addition to water sports, rugby, and tennis he has a love for aviation and holds his FAA Private Pilot’s License.

Cornel is from Romania where he graduated from the Maritime Academy. Cornel worked on commercial ships for 10 years before transitioning to yachting. In his free time, he enjoys freshwater fishing.

Gustavo is from Mexico and initially studied to become a marine pilot. After earning his degree, he began working on commercial vessels such as container ships and ferries. He later transitioned into yachting, where he discovered his true passion. In his career, he most enjoys navigating and discovering beautiful places around the world. He also loves swimming, snorkeling, and practicing water sports. Gustavo takes pride in his positive and helpful attitude and finds great satisfaction in knowing his work helps create unforgettable experiences for others.

Wade grew up in a small beach town in South Africa. Spending most of his time surfing, fishing and enjoying life on the water. He was part of sea rescue for 9 years, also a qualifies quantity surveyor. Wade found his passion in yachting where he enjoys working with guests and creating a safe, fun and memorable experience onboard.

Melissa grew up in a small town called George in South Africa. She has been in the yachting industry for 7 years. She always had a love for hospitality and tourism. Yachting gave her the best of both worlds. She also studied teaching and has a big love for kids. She takes pride in her work and always goes the extra mile for her guest and their experience onboard.

Ashley is from Virginia right outside of Washington D.C. She comes from a big family so being around people is where she thrives. On her off time, she looks for adventure, whether its beach days, getting active, or traveling to new places. She joined yachting last year and has really enjoyed the experience.

Johannes “Janco” is from South Africa and has a passion for life at sea. He began his yachting journey two years ago and decided to trade the “ordinary” lifestyle for adventure and ocean horizons. When he is not onboard, you may find him outdoors— camping, hiking, and enjoying the peace of the South African bush, far away from screens and city noise. Janco is also passionate about real estate and long-term investments, and prides himself on his eager and motivated work ethic.

Brenda grew up in a small town three minutes away from the Caribbean Ocean in the northern part of Belize. She comes from a family of Chefs and sibling rivalry, and her two sisters convinced her to further her education at the University of Culinary Arts in New York. She further expanded her culinary knowledge base through studies at Samui Institute of Thai Culinary Arts. She has travelled the world aboard yachts for 15 years, experiencing different cultures. She is a well-rounded, versatile chef who can produce an array of international foods which, through her creativity, innovation, and passion, will
undoubtedly delight your palette.
