Algot was born in a small town called Alingsas in Sweden. From childhood he is very active, skiing, ice skating, football and ping pong had been part of his everyday life. After studying electrical engineering, Algot started his career as an electrician. Eventually he felt the need for change and set out to do some travelling in France, Italy and Monaco. It was during this journey that he discovered yachting which ignited a new passion. To work at sea!

Albert was born in Osh, Kyrgyzstan, into a family of engineers. From an early age he was exposed to technology, he was assisting his father repairing various equipment. After graduating from university, he relocated to Odesa, Ukraine and he recently moved to Moldova. With over 20 years experience as an IT specialist, he joined his first and only yacht in 2012 before joining La Datcha in 2025. He loves to cook and bake, play football and ping-pong.

Dan swapped farm life on the Welsh borders for the Royal Navy at 19, navigating warships and chasing pirates before diving into yachting. With three polar seasons under his belt, he’s driven ships across all five oceans. At home in the South Downs, Dan brews his own cider, rebuilds his trusty Land Rover, and wrangles two young boys and one mischievous cat. A seasoned Officer with a sharp wit and a softer landing ashore.

A 7th generation sailor, Adrian is no stranger to the maritime industry. His passion for the sea is part of his heritage. He sailed on MY Ianis, the first vessel of its kind to compete in a round-the-world sports fishing event. A commercial diver and diving instructor ensures his extensive knowledge in SCUBA diving. Adrian is our onboard SUB-Pilot and ready to show you the wonders hidden beneath the waves.

Vitaly comes from the Kamchatkan peninsula, growing up between volcanos and snow-covered mountains. Due to his surroundings, Vitaly grew up loving the outdoors. At the age of 10 he moved to Vladivostok with his family where he graduated from marine college. He now lives in Kaliningrad with his wife and 2 kids. Vitaly has spent the last 11 years on expedition ships navigating through the icy waters of Antarctica and the high Arctic.

A graduate of Marine Biology & Costal Ecology, Martyn is a keen and avid student of the sea. Travelling through Southeast Asia and South America continued to develop his passion and understanding for the Ocean. Becoming a dive instructor, exploring the most beautiful dive spots in the world, and sharing those experiences with the most remarkable of swimming partners, GREAT WHITE SHARKS!

Martyn Roskell

Born in Lancaster and raised in a village called Heysham, Chris went to college to get a national diploma in sports before going to Leeds Metropolitan University from 2010 to 2013 where he received a BA HONS degree in physical education. He then did a level 2 and 3 qualification to be qualified as a PT. As a child, Chris was fortunate enough to go on cruises with his grandparents which is where his love for boats and travelling came from. He tries to shape his life around fitness and health and keep active.

Christopher Liley

Max as his friends like to call him, was born in the furthest eastern part of the USSR. Moving closer to civilization helped Max graduate with two degrees in Marine Engineering. He joined his first vessel at the age of 18 and has been working at sea ever since. Max considers himself to be one of the world’s greatest beer sommeliers. He is also the "go to guy" for all IT matters.

Nora was born in Hungary and grew up next to the Slovakian border. She used to dream about leaving her small town behind, travel around the world and build a career in a high-end industry. After working in hospitality for 5+ years in Cyprus and in the UK, her passion drove her to yachting in 2016. The moment she stepped onto her first yacht she immediately knew she found what she was searching for.

James was born in London and raised in Winchester. He grew up sailing and sailed lasers competitively for his country. He enjoys waterskiing, rugby, golf and skiing. He played for London Irish which is a Premiership team in English Rugby. James is currently working on his Dive Master and OOW and he aims to see all 7 continents and sail all 5 oceans by the age of 22. His dream is to dive with a whale shark.
