Veselin hails from Bulgaria and has over 13 years of experience in the Research and Yachting industry. He attended Special Marine School as well as the technical university Varna before going on to get his Master’s degree of Marine Ships Engineering; Engineer/Designer Ship’s Power Systems. He has extensive skills in mechanical, electrical, AV/IT, hydraulic engineering, and shipyard. In his own time, Veselin enjoys riding his enduro motorbike, fishing, or working out in the gym. Veselin is a proud dad to two girls.

Raymond’s passion for travelling began from a very young age; his father being a meteorologist allowed them as a family to travel each year to new and exciting destinations dependent on the contract. Raymond was fortunate enough to have travelled to New Zealand, Fiji, Samoa, Australia, and America before he had even turned 15. Raymond believes that his love for the Oceans grew when he learnt how to sail in Fiji as a little boy, starting on Optimists which progressed to lasers. Once Raymond settled in Australia in his late teenage years, his focus shifted to Basketball where he began to play professionally for two years. He soon realized that his passion for travel and the ocean took precedence over this, which is when he discovered the Yachting industry in 2012. Raymond has now worked on several well-established yachts, privately owned, chartered and new-builds. Ray has cruised many waters including The Atlantic, South Pacific, Mediterranean, Caribbean, Baltic, and Indian Oceans and has progressed his career by achieving his Chief Mate

Rhys was born and raised on a pecan nut farm in a town called Hartbeespoort, South Africa. He grew up driving tractors, riding horses and hiking as well as competing in mountain biking races from a young age. A child of Hoteliers, Rhys has gained good knowledge and experience within the hospitality industry. Rhys completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree in Strategic Management in 2021 and decided it was time to explore the world. He joined the yachting industry in 2022 and has enjoyed every moment since. In 2024, Rhys decided to put down roots in South Africa by opening his own dry-cleaning business which has been very successful. Rhys is excited to be a part of the deck team on LAURENTIA and for all adventures to come!

Engelberth is from Caracas, the capital of Venezuela. He studied at the Maritime University of the Venezuela and qualified to become a Marine Engineer. He has been working on board commercial vessels since 2011 and has travelled the world within these ten years! He gained a vast amount of experience during this time and felt ready to transition to something a little different, superyachts! He has now been on this side of the industry for over three years and has been mostly based in the Caribbean. He has also recently been involved in a refit programme! Engel is excited to bring his knowledge and experience to LAURENTIA.

Chelsea was born in Sydney, Australia in a beachside suburb. Her passion for travelling grew from a young age as her mother worked for an airline company and her family was always away adventuring to new places. Chelsea graduated with a bachelors’ degree in Psychology and International Relations from the University of Sydney. Alongside her education, Chelsea started working from a young age in cafes and restaurants, where her love for the hospitality industry began. Soon after graduating, Chelsea’s stumbled across yachting and has not looked backed since! Chelsea has worked on a range of charter and private yachts which has only grown her passion for creating memorable and exciting experiences for guests.

Julie was born in France and spent her childhood between Paris and Provence in the South of France. Being influenced by her grandmother, her passion for cooking started from an early age. Julie went on to learn the art of Parisian cooking training under several well renowned French chefs. She has a culinary style that is very creative yet adaptable to guest requirements using the freshest seasonal ingredients with an emphasis on healthy preparation. Julie is an artist in the galley combining flavours, colours, aromas, techniques and inspirations from around the world in a unique culinary experience that guests are sure to enjoy.

After completing culinary school in Romania, he began his professional journey on a river cruise ship, laying the foundation for a dynamic and adventurous culinary career. His experience includes roles seasonal private cheffing, chalet chef in the French and Austrian Alps, and a travelling chef for a high-profile individual - each position enriching his skills and broadening his global perspective. An avid lover of the outdoors, Alin thrives in mountainous environments and enjoys winter sports, snowboarding, and kayaking in his free time. With a strong work ethic, international experience, and a deep passion for both cuisine and travel, Alin is committed to bringing excellence and creativity to every galley he steps into.

Mariaan is from a small town in the Western Cape of South Africa. Growing up on a farm, she has adopted a passion for all things adventurous and outdoors. In her teens, Mariaan moved to Cape Town and worked as a hairdresser for ten years in a well-known salon. She soon reached a turning point in her career where she wanted to travel the world. Her goal was to tick as many countries on her bucket list as possible! Mariaan brings an uplifting energy to the team and always has a smile on her face. She is a positive, happy and friendly person. During her time in the industry, Mariaan has worked on vessels of various sizes, from 80m to 26m and has gained plenty experience along the way.

Olivia grew up right by coastal North Carolina and fell in love with the ocean at an early age. She studied Political Science and Biology at UNC Wilmington and has an interest in anything Science related. Olivia was formally an SDR at a Horticulture company before getting into yachting. She was drawn to the yachting industry by all her time spent on boats in Wrightsville Beach. Olivia also worked in hospitality for over 10 years and helped start a surf company back home where she instructed both camps and private lessons. Now she has worked all around the world aboard busy charter vessels ranging from 40m to 95m. She happily continues her career at sea and strives to continually curate the best possible on board experience for guests.
