Born in Palermo in 1980, Captain Diego Ruggiero has been connected to the sea since childhood. Raised in a sailing environment, he developed not only a deep passion for navigation but also a strong sense of discipline and leadership from an early age.
Diego began his professional journey in the tourism and sailing industry as a manager within charter companies, overseeing operations and service delivery. His natural management skills, combined with solid technical knowledge and extensive sea experience, quickly set him apart as both a capable captain and an effective yacht manager.
In 2003, he started working as a professional skipper on charter sailing yachts, and by 2009 he had fully dedicated his career to yachting. His early maritime experience includes serving aboard Aniletta, a 27–32m wooden schooner, where he spent three years progressing from deckhand to Second Officer. After obtaining his professional maritime qualifications, Diego advanced to captain roles, commanding catamarans, sailing yachts, and motorsailers ranging from 50 to 90 feet.
From 2014 to 2021, he captained the 80ft sailing yacht Tess, further consolidating his reputation for reliability, technical expertise, and guest-focused leadership. Following three successful seasons as Captain of Didymos, Diego now begins his first season aboard the catamaran Mosè in 2026.
Throughout his career, he has earned consistent praise from charter guests, many of whom return specifically to sail under his command. His professionalism, competence, and calm, approachable demeanor create an atmosphere that is both safe and welcoming. Malaga Spirito joins M/Y Mosè from the 2026 season as a stewardess, bringing solid experience in both yachting and hospitality. In recent years, she worked as a skipper on the sailboat El Orgulloso C.P 26 in Bariloche, Patagonia, conducting daily trips for up to six guests while ensuring onboard safety and maintaining the vessel to the highest standard. She also served as deckhand and hostess on the 40ft sailboat Facundo IV, managing cruises for up to ten guests and providing personalized service during tours on Lake Nahuel Huapi. Additionally, she gained experience in the hospitality and customer service sector in Italy at Dolomiti des Alpes in Misurina, working as a lounge waitress and assisting clients with attention and care.
Malaga holds an Argentine skipper license, STCW certification, Basic First Aid, Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities, and Fire Prevention certificates, as well as a valid driver’s license. She speaks Spanish natively, and is fluent in English, Italian, Portuguese, and Slovak. Known for her adaptability, professionalism, collaborative spirit, and empathetic approach to guest service, Malaga is proactive, organized, and responsible, always contributing positively to the team while ensuring a seamless, high-quality onboard experience.
