Massimo studied nautical engineering and went on to join the Italian Navy as an engineer. In 1996 he began working aboard cruise liners and by 2015 had established himself in the superyacht sector.

Massimo is from Sicily, Italy, and despite loving to travel this remains his favourite place in the world.

John was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada. He lived on a yacht as a child and from a young age he learnt to respect the ocean. Keen to make the ocean part of his adult life, John joined the commercial fishing industry after graduating high school.

John subsequently attended marine college to acquire his captain’s license and has now been involved in yachting for over 24 years.

John has cruised throughout Southeast Asia and the Mediterranean, and when not on the yacht Thailand has become his home.

Nawee likes to travel and spend time in nature. He is a keen mechanic and enjoys learning more about Panakeia’s operational systems and engine.

Nattawat is mad about all things boating. He loves to make trips with the tender and prides himself on finding all the best scuba diving and snorkelling spots to share with guests.

Nattawat has worked on yachts since 2004 and also has experience as a service manager at a marina. Of all the places he’s had opportunity to visit, Bonifacio in Italy remains his favourite.

Komwat comes from the island of Phuket in Thailand and graduated from the Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya with a BA in business administration, hotel and tourism management. After completing his studies, Komwat first worked in the Sheraton and Sofitel hotel chains on the Thai islands, as well as an independent luxury resort.

Komwat spent seven years on cruise liners and has enjoyed applying everything he has learnt to date to his role as a superyacht steward. The latest skill he has discovered is cocktail mixology - ask to try one of his recipes!

Tanyapat studied a BA in tourism and hotel management at the Nakhon Sawan Rajabhat University in Thailand and worked as a secretary to the executive chef at a large hotel, and as a tourist guide in Pegas Pattaya, before taking her first stewardess role in 2020.

Tanyapat enjoys keeping the interior spaces in perfect order and adding decorative accents to the cabins.

Phaporn is a hard worker and a keen cook. She assists the interior team as well as attending to the crew’s meals, and she is also trained in Thai massage.

Phaporn likes to travel and meet new people, and spends time learning about other cultures.

Sakchai graduated as a V.A.A mechanic from his studies in Thailand and loves to work on all machinery. Prior to superyachts, Sakchai worked as an engineer aboard an oil tanker and as an oiler and fitter on a cargo ship.

James is a seaman by profession with over 25 years’ experience in the superyacht industry. He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role, and holds a Master 3000GT ticket.

Before joining superyachts, James trained as a mining exploration geologist with the Royal School of Mines at Imperial College London, and spent two years working on gold exploration projects in Asia before the call of the sea became too great.

James loves the more challenging aspects of navigating a vessel this size, and of challenging waters such as the Pacific Northwest and North American Fjordland.

Andrew is a highly experienced chef who accumulated a wealth of knowledge working in prestigious hotels and restaurants in Scotland, before taking his talents aboard a small luxury cruise ship that toured the beautiful west coast of Scotland and another that sailed from St Petersburg in Russia all the way to Mumbai in India. During this time, Andrew significantly enhanced the vessels’ reputations as venues for top class cuisine.

Andrew has now been on superyachts for over 20 years, working aboard yachts with busy charter programmes and completing seasons in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, and Indian Ocean.

Andrew sources the best local market ingredients and brings a healthy, fresh flavour to his dishes. He strives to prepare meals that play on guests’ favourites, and his culinary array offers a wide range of cuisines and cooking styles.
