Matt is one of those people who instantly makes you feel relaxed the moment you step onboard. With more than 30 years in professional yachting and two circumnavigations behind him, he’s spent much of his life chasing horizons, discovering remote anchorages, and sharing the adventure of life at sea with others.
A sailor through and through, Matt still genuinely loves everything about sailing — the freedom of an overnight passage, the quiet beauty of an empty bay, and the simple pleasure of life powered by the wind. His experience spans oceans and coastlines all over the world, but what guests tend to remember most is his calm, easy-going nature and the welcoming atmosphere he creates onboard S/Y RADIANCE.
“As Captain of the only superyacht based for the most part in the wild northeast of Fiji, where tourism development is still in early stages, I appreciate the friendship and cooperation we enjoy with all the major stakeholders in this area. Dive operators, resort owners, marina operators, and booking agents extend every courtesy and opportunity to our guests and crew. We feel very much a part of the local community and are fortunate to be able to extend their hospitality to RADIANCE’s guests.”
Outside of sailing, Matt enjoys swimming, watersports, golf, padel, and pretty much anything that keeps him active outdoors. He’s also an avid sports fan and enjoys winding down with a good book, Sudoku, or a crossword puzzle after a day on the water. Whether he’s sharing stories from years at sea or guiding the yacht into another spectacular anchorage, Matt brings warmth, confidence, and a real sense of adventure to every charter.

Sara has spent many years working on both motor and sailing yachts, but sailing is where she feels most at home. She loves the relaxed pace of life under sail, the strong sense of teamwork onboard, and the adventure that comes with discovering beautiful coastlines and quiet anchorages along the way.
Warm, calm, and naturally thoughtful, Sara has a lovely way of making guests feel comfortable from the moment they step onboard S/Y RADIANCE. Whether she’s setting a beautiful table, helping guests enjoy a day on the water, or jumping in on deck during docking, she brings a positive energy and easy-going nature to everything she does.
When she’s not onboard, Sara is happiest outdoors — kayaking, paddleboarding, skiing, hiking, or exploring the archipelago of her homeland Sweden on her own boat. She also loves visiting vineyards around Europe and spending quality time with friends and family.

Growing up in Sweden around boats and sailing from a young age, Jonathan developed a natural confidence at sea and a genuine love for adventure under sail. Before joining S/Y RADIANCE, he completed a three-month solo sailing journey through Sweden, Denmark, and Norway — an experience that strengthened both his seamanship and independent mindset.
With a background as a qualified electrician and marine technician, Jonathan brings a practical, problem-solving approach onboard and enjoys getting hands-on with everything from navigation systems and tender operations to maintenance and deck work. Alongside sailing, he’s also raced competitively in Swedish regattas and worked as a skipper in his family’s boating business.
Outside of yachting, Jonathan has another creative side — working as a DJ at clubs, festivals, and events across Sweden. Easy-going, adventurous, and always up for a challenge, he fits naturally into the close-knit atmosphere onboard S/Y RADIANCE.

Sam is the embodiment of the adventurous spirit onboard S/Y RADIANCE. With over 13 years in the maritime industry, more than 200,000 ocean miles logged, and a career that has taken him across some of the most remote corners of the world, he brings an incredible depth of experience — and plenty of stories — to life at sea.
Originally from the UK, Sam’s background began in the British Army, where he developed the leadership, resilience, and logistical mindset that now serves him so well offshore. Since then, his life has revolved around exploration, sailing, engineering, and expedition work. From crossing oceans and managing major yacht refits to leading scientific missions in Baja Mexico with Sea Shepherd and Sea Legacy, Sam has built a career around adventure and problem-solving. During these expeditions, he worked closely alongside scientists and National Geographic filmmakers searching for elusive whale species and documenting marine conservation efforts in remote waters.
“I feel so fortunate to be able to use my experience as an expedition crew member on National Geographic cruises here in Fiji. Our guests are able to experience the magnificent underwater landscape of some of the top reefs on our planet. Divers, snorkellers, and shore explorers alike are so happy with the underwater and drone photography to take home with them.”
As both an experienced engineer and accomplished captain, Sam is just as comfortable deep in the engine room as he is navigating remote anchorages or leading an expedition team ashore. His experience includes overseeing multi-million-dollar yacht projects, managing extensive refits, and operating vessels across the Pacific, Caribbean, Mediterranean, Australasia, and beyond.
What really stands out about Sam, though, is his genuine passion for exploration and life at sea. He thrives in wild places, enjoys sharing knowledge and stories with guests, and brings a calm, capable energy onboard. Whether it’s helping guests discover an untouched anchorage, explaining local marine life, or keeping the yacht running perfectly behind the scenes, Sam adds a real sense of adventure to every charter onboard S/Y RADIANCE.

For Catherine, cooking has always been about bringing people together. Having spent many years onboard both sailing and motor yachts, she loves the relaxed rhythm of life at sea — from long lunches in the cockpit to beautifully prepared dinners after a day under sail.
Her career began in the interior before naturally evolving into the galley, giving her a well-rounded understanding of guest experience onboard. Thoughtful with flavours, presentation, and provisioning, Catherine creates fresh, vibrant meals with influences from Mediterranean, Asian, and home-style cuisine, always tailored to the guests and the journey. She’s also passionate about baking, pastries, sushi, and artisan bread making, having trained with renowned chefs and cookery schools around the world.
"I am delighted with Fiji’s locally available fruits, plants and seasoning herbs, many of which are even medicinal in nature. We are able to provision so much locally, without the need to fly food from Australia or New Zealand. Loving the magic of the Fiji markets!”
Outside of the galley, Catherine enjoys swimming, hiking, padel, reading, knitting, and playing piano. Warm, calm, and quietly creative, she brings a lovely sense of comfort and hospitality to life onboard S/Y RADIANCE.
