Luka’s family has a long history at sea, going back to his great-great-grandfather, and while Luka chose a career in the kitchen, it wasn’t long before the sea called him. Luka attended culinary school and then went on to complete a master’s degree in culinary art. After graduation, for more than a decade, Luka worked in some of Split’s best restaurants before moving his career to the sea. For the last few years, Luka has been the head chef aboard three motor yachts (50+ m). Luka loves working on yachts for the team atmosphere and adventure, but he was mostly drawn to yachts because of the freedom it gives in the kitchen. “When the entire menu and the final product on the plate depends on me, it encourages me to work harder and push the boundaries of my skills and creativity.” Luka is known for his hardworking attitude, calm nature, and team spirit. In terms of guest care, Luka has a very simple attitude – the guest is always right. When he isn’t working, Luka loves upskilling, video games, reading, and spending time with his wife and young son.

Stipe studied at the Maritime faculty in Split and has been working at sea since he was 16, ‘learning the ropes’ on local boats, following in father and grandfather’s footsteps. Stipe has more than a decade worth of experience on local ships and yachts. He loves this industry because he loves meeting new people, working in a team, travelling to new destinations, and being in an environment where he can constantly learn. Stipe considers himself a calm character who is hardworking, loyal, and diligent. Stipe’s ambition is to be a Captain one day. When he isn’t working, Stipe still loves everything connected to the sea from swimming to spearfishing and scuba diving; on land he plays basketball and loves being out in nature. Danijel, armed with a culinary education and nearly two decades of experience in local restaurants, recently transitioned his career to the dynamic world of yachting in pursuit of new challenges. Despite his extensive background, Danijel opted for a sous chef position on board, driven by a sincere desire to learn the ropes of yachting. Danijel and Luka have worked aboard together previously, so they already have a great team energy – a crucial element in the demanding yacht setting. The allure of yachting for Danijel lies in its dynamic pace, the opportunity to meet new people, and the freedom to experiment with cuisine – both local and international. Danijel prides himself on his adaptability and team-oriented approach – “the guests having a great experience is dependent on the entire crew doing their part and working well together.” Danijel’s long-term goal is to be the head chef aboard a yacht. In his spare time, he enjoys taking his small boat out fishing.

Marin grew up on the Dalmatian coast and spent his childhood exploring the nearby islands, so a career in yachting was a natural choice. For six years, Marin worked on various vessels along the Adriatic coast and ascended the ranks, beginning as a deckhand, he worked his way up to Captain. Ever ambitious, Marin chose to leave the Adriatic to gain international experience aboard a larger vessel. In 2021, Marin joined MY Quantum of Solace (73 m) as a deckhand and was quickly promoted to Bosun. During this time, he sailed the Mediterranean, South Florida, and completed three Atlantic crossings. His tenure aboard MY Quantum of Solace proved instrumental in cultivating invaluable expertise in technical operations, shipyard maintenance, ocean crossings, and catering to high profile charter guests.
Marin’s goal was always to Captain a respected vessel, and he considers captaining Reposado a fulfilment of this goal. As a leader, he balances a relaxed demeanour with high standards, prioritising professionalism and guest care above all. When asked his favourite part of this job, Marin says it is “spending days at anchor with active charter guests, where you can get out all of the water toys and give the guests a day to remember.” Outside of yachts, Marin is an active person who loves travel, adventure, and sports. Marin is looking forward to another successful season aboard Reposado in 2025.
