Christian’s background is as varied as it is impressive. Before joining the yachting industry in 2011, he piloted aeroplanes and worked in yacht maintenance and repairs. Determined to understand every aspect of life at sea before becoming a captain, he gained experience in all areas of sailing whilst completing the necessary tickets and qualifications. He has also served in the Austrian military’s air force, further broadening his skill set.
Born in Paris, Christian grew up in Austria, Norway, and Kenya, before finishing his schooling in sunny Cape Town, South Africa.
Over the years, Christian has captained both charter and private yachts of various sizes, from 18m to nearly 30m, operating in the Caribbean, Mediterranean, and Middle East. He has proven himself to be calm and confident under pressure, adapting to changing conditions, all while ensuring guests enjoy a comfortable and memorable time on board.
Christian has a great love for the outdoors and enjoys archery and building model aeroplanes.

Chris Sheidle
Captain
Michelle started her yachting career in 2019 after studying in Cape Town and acquiring her BA degree in Fashion. She has joined the team as Chief Stewardess in 2023 after completing multiple seasons on heavily chartered yachts such as MY Asya (47m) and MY St David (60m) as well as a season on a high-profile private yacht as second stewardess on MY Vector (57m). Her Fashion degree and previous experience ensures her refined eye for detail, style , and presentation to her role, seamlessly blending professionalism with creativity. She has a great talent for styling and doing any seamstress work which she’s showcased in her roles on board. Michelle has been trained in wardrobe management, garment care, table decoration as well as event planning which makes her the go to person for any quest requirements. Michelle’s enjoyment of fashion, reading and engaging thoughtfully with people around her are qualities that enrich both her personal and professional life in yachting.

Michael joined ROBUSTO as First Mate in the winter of 2023, bringing with him a keen enthusiasm for the sea and all water sports. With a positive, hard-working attitude, he provides valuable support to Captain Christian, always ready to adapt and lend a hand. His experience on board M/Y VIKING III (35m) and M/Y KIO (44m) has helped him develop strong organisational skills, ensuring that even the busiest charters run smoothly.
Whether it’s wakeboarding, fishing, or exploring any of the yacht’s wide range of water toys, Michael is happy to assist. His aim is to make sure guests feel welcome and enjoy a truly memorable holiday.
Away from his duties, Michael loves all sports—rugby in particular—and follows English football as a Manchester United fan.

“Rory” as he is called by friends, has an impressive background and experience in the yachting industry He loves keeping ROBUSTO functioning perfectly for the guests to enjoy. Starting his career in 1987, he has served as Chief Engineer on numerous motor yachts including M/Y MOSAIQUE (49m), M/Y TANUSHA (65m), M/Y ELEVEN ELEVEN (65m), and M/Y PEGASUS (80m), just to name a few. Throughout his career, he has a number of notable achievements, completing no less than 12 Atlantic crossings and he has participated in numerous long-distance deliveries: including routes such as France to Thailand via India, or Fort Lauderdale to Istanbul. Rory has also worked in shipyards around the world, including Australia, New Zealand, Florida, Holland, France, Spain, and Singapore — travel memories that he is happy to share with guests. In his spare time, Rory is a family man and enjoys spending time with his loved ones, but can also be found flying helicopters, filmmaking, and photography.

Keegan’s strong interest in different cultures, cuisines, and the sea inspired him to pursue a career that combines all three. Growing up sailing and surfing along the Durban coast, he developed a genuine appreciation for the ocean and its many possibilities. His experience on larger yachts such as M/Y LA MARAGE (52m) and M/Y BEOL (60m) has prepared him well for the fast-paced nature of yachting, ensuring he can adapt and thrive in any situation on board.
Keen to stay active, Keegan enjoys involving the crew in a range of fun activities. This season, he looks forward to providing guests with an enjoyable experience, using his creative flair—especially when showcasing his Italian dishes—to make every meal special.

Melissa having started yachting in 2019 has quite an extensive amount of experience as a stewardess on motor yachts ranging from 30m to 60m. She started her yachting career in all departments including doing deck work and cooking for crew and guests. Melissa has refined her skills and has more recently completed intensive charter seasons on MY Asya (47m) and MY Eternal spark (50m) as a senior/ lead stewardess. She is highly talented and passionate about cooking as well as the outdoors. Melissa enjoys art, fashion and taking care of children and has previously been the go to nanny and personal stylist on MY My Secret (47m private) .Her incredible talents and friendly demeanour has made her an excellent addition to the team.
