With a strong background in both sailing and motor yachts, she has extensive experience in watchkeeping, guest service, yacht maintenance, watersports operations, and transatlantic crossings. Her career includes work on private and charter vessels, where she has been involved in delivery preparations, shipyard periods, charter turnarounds, safety drills, tender operations, and solo watches. Known for her organised, dependable, and positive approach, Karolina combines strong technical and operational skills with excellent teamwork and communication. She holds a range of professional certifications, including RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore, GMDSS GOC, Advanced Fire Fighting, and Medical Care.
How do you reassure people who are nervous about swimming/getting in and out of tenders etc?
“I always stay calm, patient, and attentive. I guide guests' step by step, adapting to their confidence level and ensuring they never feel rushed or uncomfortable. Building trust is the most important part, and once guests feel safe and supported, they are usually able to relax and truly enjoy the experience.”
What has been your highlight while being a crew member?
“One of the biggest highlights of my career has been crossing the Atlantic and taking part in several yacht deliveries. These experiences pushed me through long shifts, demanding conditions, and extended periods at sea, while also allowing me to work alongside incredible crews and visit amazing places.”

What is your favourite dish to cook on charter?
“I enjoy adapting my dishes to reflect both the season and the preferences of each guest, creating an atmosphere that feels personal, fresh, and welcoming. My approach is strongly inspired by Mediterranean and seasonal influences, bringing elegance, warmth, and authenticity to every experience. At the same time, my passion for discovering and exploring different styles is endless, allowing me to continuously evolve and bring new creative ideas on board.”
What is the one ingredient you cannot live without?
“The ingredients I cannot live without are sweet potato, coriander, parsley, salt, and pepper, as they bring freshness, balance, and flavour to so many dishes I enjoy creating.”

Zahra is from Belgium with a background in humanitarian work, hospitality, and sailing. After several years in the humanitarian sector, she transitioned into yachting, building her experience through sailing school, transatlantic crossings, offshore deliveries, and work aboard both motor and sailing yachts. With experience navigating the Atlantic, Mediterranean, and North Sea, Zahra is equally comfortable assisting on deck and providing attentive guest service. She takes pride in creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring guests enjoy a memorable experience on board. Outside of yachting, Zahra enjoys sailing, hiking, chess, music, and art. She is fluent in French and English.
