Alex grew up in the South of France to English parents and developed a passion for the maritime industry from an early age, following in his father’s footsteps. He began his career in 2013 by completing a maritime cadetship and gaining valuable experience on board container ships before spending three years on cruise ships as both 3rd and 2nd Officer. In early 2019, Alex transitioned into the yachting industry and since then, he has worked on board a variety of yachts ranging from 47m to 111m, continually expanding his knowledge, experience, and understanding of the industry while embracing every opportunity for professional growth. Driven and ambitious, Alex is focused on continuing to build sea time and experience, with the goal of achieving his Master Mariner qualification in the near future and progressing toward a long and successful career in yachting.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys staying active and can often be found playing football, padel, and alpine skiing. He also has a passion for cars and enjoys road trips, discovering new places, and seeking out new adventures along the way.

Alex Fry

Chris was born on the East Coast of South Africa, where he grew up near the ocean. His childhood was filled with days spent playing on the beaches, exploring rock pools, and later discovering his love for surfing, diving, and sailing. His deep passion for adventure and nature led him to travel extensively, eventually introducing him to the yachting industry in 2005. Since then, Chris has had the privilege of working in some of the world’s most stunning dive locations, including the Maldives, Thailand, and the Galapagos Islands, among many others.
In his free time, he continues to seek out exotic surf and dive destinations and enjoys off-road adventures, exploring neighbouring African countries by 4x4 or camping and hiking in the mountains. A significant highlight of his career was serving as captain of UTOPIA, a 72m Feadship, during two Atlantic crossings.

Kyly is a dual citizen of both South Africa and Australia. Her professional journey began when she pursued a degree in food and nutrition at university. Kyly's academic pursuits transitioned into a career path marked by exploration and discovery. As a national food specialist for a prestigious company, she had the opportunity to immerse herself in the complexities of culinary landscapes, a role that afforded her the privilege of global travel. However, it was her encounter with a special family that set Kyly on a new trajectory. Embracing her love for nurturing and teaching, she found herself not only contributing to recipe development for their nutrition cafés but also forming deep bonds as an au pair with the family's children. Through the encouragement from her friends, Kyly entered the world of yachting, a realm perfectly suited to her adventurous spirit. Alongside travelling the globe – from the enchanting shores of Europe, to the breathtaking landscapes of Canada and the familiar embrace of Australia, yachting has become the backdrop for Kyly's personal and professional growth.

Lawrence King started his engineering journey at the age of 17 when he became a car mechanic for VWAG. From here he was then sponsored by Princess Cruises to study Marine Engineering at Fleetwood Nautical College from which he graduated and then worked on cruise ships for a number of years afterwards. He moved to the yachting industry in 2021 and has loved every minute.
Lawrence loves to travel and try different cuisines; he built his own campervan which, in summer, he takes on adventures to go hiking, surfing, and cycling; and in the winter months he enjoys skiing and snowboarding. He is very much into food and loves cooking and trying different recipes and restaurants along his travels.

She graduated from university with a degree in Graphic Design and Marketing, but after spending long winters behind a desk, she realized she was craving a more adventurous lifestyle. That desire ultimately led her to the yachting industry where she has now spent over eight years building a successful career in hospitality and service. KayLani loves creating memorable experiences for guests and takes pride in making people feel comfortable, welcomed, and well taken care of. Her creative background, eye for detail, and love for working with others has made yachting the perfect fit for her.

When ashore, Carlie enjoys staying active through running and horse riding, as well as exploring new restaurants. She has a genuine passion for food and cooking, and values spending quality time with family and friends, often sharing stories from her travels and the people she meets along the way. What Carlie loves most about her role is combining her passion for hospitality and wellness in the spa, helping guests to truly relax and feel at home throughout their time on board SANTOSHA.

Jacob comes from Encinitas, California, where he spent his youth surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and has been following his love of the sea his entire life. He began scuba diving at the age of nine and is an avid free-diver, surfer, and yachtsman. In 1996, Jacob launched his career on the water in the commercial fishing industry in the Bering Sea. It was during his time in Alaska that he discovered yachting and has never looked back. Since then, he has worked on various vessels around the world. Before taking the helm of SANTOSHA, Jacob commanded BROADWATER. As the build captain for the SANTOSHA project, Jacob now leads its operations. He brings a calm, professional presence in the team and looks forward to welcoming you on board.

David was born in Brisbane and has spent the last 21 years working on professionally run motor yachts, with more than 10 years’ experience as captain. He feels very fortunate to have done a lot of world cruising both on and off the beaten track, working for a variety of lovely families. He has been at the helm while travelling the Mediterranean, England, Egypt, Singapore, New Zealand, Galapagos, Tahiti, Costa Rica, to name just a few. David cares about his crew and the yacht a great deal, and his philosophy to ensure a smooth sailing operation, is to have a diverse crew who all enjoy what they do - looking after guests and exploring the world. He loves the boating way of life so much that in his free time, he and his wife, Anita, go adventuring on their own 8m boat in the beautiful waters of the Great Barrier Reef, Australia.

His maritime career began over 20 years ago on board container ships, taking him across Europe, Asia, and South America. He has extensive experience working on dynamic positioning vessels in the Gulf of Mexico and has also served as a Chief Engineer on tugboats. With a true passion for his work, Ruben finds daily satisfaction in problem-solving and keeping the engine room running smoothly Seeking a new lifestyle and fresh challenges, he transitioned into yachting. He has spent considerable time in the Caribbean and holds a special fondness for the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos.
In his free time, Ruben enjoys reading and listening to a wide range of music—from 70s rock to classical. He believes in living in the moment and making the most of every day.
