About SCINTILLA MARIS

This lovingly converted ocean-going trawler has undergone an extensive four-year rebuild process to transform her into a more than capable explorer yacht. Stripped down to bare steel, fully modernised and recreated in the owner’s vision, SCINTILLA MARIS’ original steel mast alludes to her fishing history, but step inside and it’s another story.

SCINTILLA MARIS spent 20 years trawling the North Sea before being decommissioned in 2006 and taken on by Damen Maaskant who completed the project in 2023. Her original 1988 keel is charming, while contemporary interiors by Vripack boast curved walls, 30 decklights filling the inside with light, and a bold colour scheme of red, green, and yellow.

10 guests can find well-appointed accommodation across two double and two bunk-style twin cabins. There is also a full-beam master cabin complete with an office. Elsewhere, the main saloon is bright and contemporary.

Outside, guests can expect ample deck spaces for relaxation, entertainment, and making the most of the Arctic scenery. SCINTILLA MARIS’ rich history and seaworthiness makes her the perfect match for charterers looking visit colder climes. Use her as a base for arctic exploration, be it cruising between postcard-perfect fishing villages or kayaking among majestic fjords and remarkable wildlife.
