Eric hails from Cape Town, South Africa, but was originally born in Benoni, Johannesburg, Gauteng. During school, he was actively involved in rugby and wrestling. As he felt there was more to explore in life, he didn’t pursue formal studies right away. Instead, he took on various side jobs for two years before realizing that his true passion lays in travel and networking, which led him to pursue a career in yachting. Over the past two years, he has developed an appreciation for the ocean, and he is now fully committed to progressing in the yachting industry with the goal of one day becoming a captain. He is also interested and planning to take on engineering courses to enhance his knowledge of mechanical systems and their operations. In his free time, he enjoys rugby, fitness, watersports and golf.

Thean started his culinary career at the age of 20 where he did 3 years in culinary school in South Africa. He worked in large hotels doing banquets for a large number of guests, spent some time at a bakery honing his venoisserie skills and then worked at a private game lodge where he worked in a fine dining setting. After graduating top of his class at Alfresco international academy of food and wine, he got his first job as a commis chef at Terroir - one of South Africa’s best fine dining establishments. He worked his way through all the various sections in the kitchen, being promoted twice in the three years he had spent at Terroir. He developed a special love for the pastry and sauciers sections during his tenure. Thean then decided to get his foot in the door in the yachting industry. He landed his first job as sous chef on a 65m Motor Yacht and worked under an extremely experienced head chef who had been in the yachting industry for over 12 years. He was mentored to take over this chef's role and after only one year stepped into the position of head chef on the same yacht. He spent over 5 years with the same owner and moved across to the owner’s new yacht - an 85m A&R. During this time he spent every year doing a culinary course in different cuisines to better himself at his craft. He did an Indian course in India for 6 weeks, a Thai cooking course in Thailand for 4 weeks and an expert patisserie course in Yssingeaux in France for 8 weeks. After 5 years of working as head chef, he wanted to venture to a larger yacht to see how things operate on that level. He got a job on the largest charter vessel in the world at the time and spent over a year running the galley as senior sous chef working under former head chef of the Ritz Carlton in London. Thean has recently joined SeaLion to showcase his skills to clients who appreciate extremely high standards with regards to world cuisine.

Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, Geoff has always been an active outdoor person. Having grown up on a marina with an adjoining nature conservation area and beaches, he naturally gained a love for the ocean. This love turned into a career of professional yachting around the world, having driven yachts up to 220ft (74m) during his career, in 5 of the world's 7 continents. Geoff has a thorough understanding of the tailored luxury charter experience from planning to execution to successful completion of charters onboard. Having previously worked on board many well respected charter and private Super Yachts, M/Y Global 220ft, M/Y Mia Elise 2 200ft, M/Y Skyfall 190ft, M/Y Lady May 152ft, MY Marea 122ft, MY Big Fish 147ft, Geoff aims to provide the standard of service that is expected of a top-level charter. Holding a bachelor's degree in Industrial design (Cum Laude) and a certificate in Naval Architecture, Geoff has been fortunate to have been able to use these in planning, rebuilding and maintenance projects of superyachts in shipyards all over the world. Currently residing between the UK and South Africa with his wife, he spends most of his time off the vessel keeping fit and growing his real estate investment businesses with his wife and a group of other captains in the yachting community.
The tentative plan we have in place for Geoff's time onboard are the following months: November/December, March/April, July. Obviously things can change by a few days depending on trips and both Lance & Wessel agree they are flexible to move some things around if either needs but this is the rough idea what SEALION has in mind.
