Garreth is from Dublin, Ireland, and is passionate about ensuring your trip is as enjoyable as possible. Having worked as a personal trainer before entering the yachting industry, he has honed his skills in sports therapy, pilates, and sports massage. He is enthusiastic about utilising these skills to enhance the guest experience on board. An ambitious individual, Garreth values compassion, determination, and resilience. Outside of yachting, he is an avid Gaelic football and hurling player, having competed at a senior competitive level.

Jan grew up in the picturesque Dutch fishing town of Elburg and spent five years working as a Chef in China, including one of the world’s top 10 fine-dining restaurants: Senses. After a friend introduced him to the world of yachting, he left his shoreside career and followed his passion for life at sea. Since then, his extensive travels have honed his expertise, with a distinctive style that fuses Chinese flavours and Western techniques. Highly motivated, Jan’s notable achievements include winning Holland’s top metal band award with his hometown friends, prevailing over 48 competitors. Known for his positivity, eagerness, and sharp humour, Jan is committed to using his skills to create a collaborative and enjoyable team environment.

Jake hails from Yorkshire, UK, where he completed a degree in marine biology before pursuing his passion for motorbike racing. He worked as a mechanic and truck driver for championship‑winning teams in both the British and World Superbike Championships, collaborating with world-renowned figures such as Lewis Hamilton and Valentino Rossi. In 2017, Jake discovered a love for sailing and achieved his commercial Yachtmaster Offshore certificate. While working as a First Mate on sailing yachts, he found his extensive mechanical background naturally steering him toward marine engineering - a path that ultimately led him to the yachting industry and now to Sophia.

Zak hails from Newcastle in Northeast England with a lifelong passion for health and fitness. A dedicated athlete, he played competitive basketball for 12 years at both university and national levels. Zak holds an undergraduate degree in sport and exercise science and a master’s in nutritional sciences and enjoys the opportunity to apply these skills with guests on board. After beginning his yachting career as a Deckhand on Sophia, he has since progressed to the role of Chase Boat Skipper. Zak loves running, hiking, and staying active; recently completing his first marathon. He also enjoys creating cocktails, drawing on his bartending experience gained during university.

He is currently working towards his Chief Mates 3000, with plans to progress to Master 3000. Charlie is highly motivated, career-driven, and dedicated to developing his skills and knowledge within the industry. Outside yachting, he enjoys exploring new destinations, having visited over 55 countries. Charlie is known for being positive and personable, bringing his proactive attitude to every task on board. He believes that mutual respect, strong teamwork, and maintaining high morale are essential to delivering the best guest experiences.

Beyond her interior duties, Carla loves exploring and hiking, enjoys off‑road adventures and is especially fond of her 1984 Suzuki Jimny. Next on her list: attending a Formula One race with her dad and earning her open water diving certification.
