Jason worked in various land-based companies before gaining his first experience at sea at the tender age of 28. Packing his bags, he joined what at the time was the largest cruise ship in the world, as a butler. After a year learning about the hospitality industry, he decided that a career at sea was his future. Following a season on a day trip yacht in Malta in 2000, he started the serious business of gaining professional sailing qualifications.
Jason has now been a captain for 20 years and his first command was on a privately- owned 30m sailing yacht – Impression - during which time he oversaw and managed a complete refit of the vessel in order to circumnavigate the globe one and a half times. He left Impression in New Zealand at the end of 2007, returning to the UK where he gained his Chief Mate License and got married. In his last role as Captain, he led and managed the purchase and full build of M/Y Sosa, working for the owner for 8 years in total.

Christen grew up on a farm in KwaZulu-Natal before moving to Cape Town to pursue her passion for the creative arts. She studied art direction, graduated top of her class, and became a finalist in the prestigious Loeries Awards, one of Africa’s highest accolades in advertising. With a strong foundation in visual storytelling and design, Christen brings a natural artistic eye and attention to detail to her work.
Her journey into yachting began in a uniquely creative way — determined to stand out, she hand-drew and painted every yacht she applied to, transforming her CV into a personal piece of art. This reflected not only her dedication and drive, but also her desire to bring creativity into the industry from the very beginning. Now starting her first season as a Junior Stewardess aboard THUMPER, Christen combines her creative background with life at sea.
Friendly, hardworking, and always eager to learn, she describes herself as a “sponge.” With a natural curiosity about different cultures and a love of new challenges, she was drawn to yachting as a way to experience the world through new perspectives — something that continually inspires both her creativity and the way she connects with people on board.

Iain was born in Glasgow, Scotland and grew up in a small village called Bridge of Weir. His father was a gifted hands-on engineer who inspired Iain from day one, teaching him the intricacies of all things mechanically and electrically operated. From a young age Iain and his family spent most of the summer holidays cruising the West Coast of Scotland on small sailing yachts. He then spent 3 years studying mechanical engineering at Dundee University before deciding that the practical aspect and daily working environment of yacht engineering were far better suited to him.
Iain has now been a Chief Engineer for over 11 years and during this time has gained valuable experience on a variety of sized vessels, both power and sail. Although Iain has spent the majority of his yachting career in the Mediterranean, he has also spent two seasons extensively cruising the Caribbean and even spent some time as far North as Nova Scotia. He currently holds his Chief Engineers Y3 qualification and with his experience and studies he will certainly ensure your time on board runs smoothly at all times.
