Gordon is a fourth-generation seafarer bought up around boats and electrical and mechanical engineering. He started his career as a junior apprentice in marine electrical and electronic engineering building boats. After completing training he switched to mechanical engineering at sea. He has now been working at sea for over 16 years. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, riding, playing golf and brewing beer and has recently taken to Astro photography. All of this is squeezed in around spending time with his wife and young daughter.
