Tarjei has a robust maritime career, beginning his journey at sea as a fisherman at the age of 17. With a deep foundation in maritime operations, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Nautical Science from NTNU and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Operational Maritime Management.
His career spans a variety of roles, including Captain, Chief Officer, and Fisherman, across both fish carriers and trawlers. Notably, Tarjei has served as Captain for an Expedition vessel, where he led high-end polar expeditions to Svalbard and the Arctic. His extensive experience includes navigating the complexities of fish farming transport and Arctic polar navigation, coupled with a range of specialized certifications. Beyond his maritime career he has a keen interest in mechanics and electronics.

His expertise spans platform supply, coastal and international towage, and ship-to-ship operations. Now, Dmitry continues his passion for life at sea aboard VIKINGJORD, where he thrives on exploring the Arctic’s remote and breathtaking regions as a Chief Officer and supporting the captain with the day-to-day operations of the vessel. Dmitry is known for his reliability and professional versatility.
