Want to charter a catamaran with a Jet Ski?
You're definitely not alone.
When we're helping families and groups choose a yacht, water toys can quickly go from "that would be fun" to "wait, this yacht doesn't have a Jet Ski?"
And the good news is that there are plenty of luxury catamarans with Jet Skis available for charter around the world.
But there's an important catch:
Just because a catamaran has a Jet Ski onboard doesn't necessarily mean you're allowed to use it everywhere you charter.
Different destinations have different regulations. In some places, Jet Skis aren't permitted at all such as the British Virgin Islands. In others, you need the appropriate license to operate one such as Greece and Croatia. Another thing to think about is that in Croatia for example, some smaller catamarans that don't normally carry a Jet Ski onboard allow you to rent one to bring along on your trip if you have the right credentials.
So if having a Jet Ski is high on your vacation wish list, here's what you should know before choosing your yacht.
Can You Charter a Catamaran With a Jet Ski?
Absolutely.
Larger luxury sailing and power catamarans increasingly carry impressive collections of water toys, and Jet Skis are available on many of them.
Depending on the yacht, you might also find:
- Seabobs
- E-foils
- Wakeboards
- Water skis
- Paddleboards
- Kayaks
- Towable inflatables
- Snorkeling equipment
- Scuba equipment
- Floating platforms
Some larger catamarans have tender garages or hydraulic platforms designed to store and launch this equipment, while others carry toys on deck or tow larger equipment when appropriate.

How Much Does a Catamaran With a Jet Ski Cost?
There's no single price point where Jet Skis suddenly become standard.
Generally, however, you're more likely to find them as you move into larger premium catamarans with more storage capacity and bigger toy collections.
For example, current yachts in our fleet search include catamarans in roughly the 67- to 80-foot range carrying Jet Skis, with advertised weekly base rates ranging from approximately €65,000 upward. There are exceptions in both directions, and rates vary by destination and season.
Can You Use a Jet Ski on a BVI Catamaran Charter?
No—not in BVI waters.
This is one of the most important things to know if you're deciding between Caribbean yacht charter destinations.
Personal watercraft, including Jet Skis, are prohibited in BVI waters. That means even if the yacht you're considering physically carries a Jet Ski, you should not choose it for a BVI itinerary expecting to use that toy during your charter there.
This surprises a lot of clients because the British Virgin Islands are otherwise fantastic for water activities.
The good news is that there's usually plenty else onboard to keep everyone entertained.
Many BVI catamarans carry Seabobs, e-foils, wakeboards, paddleboards, kayaks, towable toys, floating mats and snorkeling or diving equipment.
So if your kids say they absolutely need something fast, we can usually find alternatives.
But if having a Jet Ski is one of the top priorities for the trip, tell us before we choose the destination—not after we choose the yacht.
What About Catamarans With Jet Skis in Croatia and Greece?
You'll find some spectacular luxury catamarans carrying Jet Skis, particularly as you move into the larger end of the charter market.
But having the Jet Ski onboard and being legally able to drive it yourself are two different things.
Plan on needing an appropriate license if you want to operate the Jet Ski yourself. Croatia and Greece have a formal licensing system for operators of high-speed craft, so this is something we want to address before you arrive for your charter.
If Jet Ski use is important to your group, tell your broker ahead of time so they can help you secure a license if you dont already have one.
What If Your Catamaran Doesn't Have a Jet Ski?
This is where Croatia and Greece give us another option.
Some of the smaller catamarans simply don't have enough storage space to carry a Jet Ski as part of their normal water-toy inventory.
Depending on the yacht, itinerary and availability, we can sometimes arrange to rent a Jet Ski separately and have the yacht tow it behind during the charter.
There will be an additional rental cost, and this needs to be approved and arranged in advance. Not every yacht or itinerary will be suitable for it.
But it's an option worth knowing about.
This can be especially useful when you've found a smaller catamaran that checks every other box: great crew, perfect cabins, right budget, but someone in the family is refusing to let go of the Jet Ski requirement.
Rather than eliminating the yacht immediately, ask us whether adding one is possible.
What About the Bahamas?
If Jet Skis are a major priority, the Bahamas can be a great destination to consider.
Many larger catamarans cruising the Bahamas carry extensive water-toy collections including jet skis, and the shallow turquoise water of the Exumas creates an incredible setting for days spent on and in the water.
The exact equipment varies from yacht to yacht, so we still recommend filtering specifically for jet ski if that's important to your group.
Tell Your Broker Which Water Toys Are Non-Negotiable
This is probably the biggest piece of advice I can give you.
Tell us which water toys matter before we start narrowing down the yachts.
There's a big difference between:
"A Jet Ski would be nice."
and
"My three teenagers will consider the vacation ruined without one."
We need to know which one we're dealing with.
The same goes for scuba diving, e-foils, Seabobs, fishing equipment, wakeboards and other toys.
