Bahamas FAQs

How much does it cost to charter a yacht in the Bahamas?

Prices vary based on yacht type, size, and season. Expect $20,000–$30,000 per week for a luxury catamaran, and $50,000–$500,000+ for a crewed superyacht.

Where do most Bahamas yacht charters start from?

Nassau is the most common departure point, followed by Marsh Harbour (Abacos), Staniel Cay, and Georgetown (Exumas).

What is included in the charter fee? What is the difference between All inclusive VS plus expenses

All-Inclusive Charter: An all-inclusive charter includes the yacht rental, crew services (captain, chef, etc.), meals, drinks, fuel, water sports equipment, and some other amenities. It covers almost everything, except for gratuity. Plus Expenses Charter: A plus expenses charter means the base price covers the yacht and crew, but additional costs (fuel, food, drinks, mooring fees, etc.) are billed separately. These expenses are in addition to the charter fee include VAT tax, which varies by country and is 14% in the Bahamas. And Advanced Provisioning Allowance (APA) which is an upfront payment, usually around 20-40% of the charter fee, to cover additional expenses (fuel, food, drinks, dockage, etc.). At the end of the charter, any unused APA is refunded, and any additional expenses beyond the APA are charged to the charterer.

Additionally crew gratuity is customarily 15-20% of the base charter fee (APA/VAT excluded).

What activities can I enjoy during my yacht charter in the Bahamas?

The Bahamas are perfect for a variety of activities, including swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, and exploring beautiful beaches. You can also enjoy paddleboarding, kayaking, or visiting local attractions like the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park. Many yachts are equipped with water sports equipment, and your crew can arrange onshore excursions to experience the best of Bahamian culture and nature.
