Lady Amanda | 98 Ft.
We are back in the US, with fond memories but already missing our time on Lady Amanda! Captain Ashley and his crew are nothing short of phenomenal. Highlights from the Chef were breakfasts, Colby’s special dinners and his truffle crudités – those were a hit. Colby loved the crane swing and the slide. Fly boarding was a highlight and the hydrofoil was in high demand! Overall, we had an epic time, loved every minute, and can’t thank the crew enough! We hope to be back on Lady Amanda next summer if we can work that out!

I can’t begin to tell you how much we all appreciate your efforts for our charter we finished a few weeks ago on Lisa of the Seas. Yes, a large part of a charter is where you are sailing but in reality it is the crew that can make or break an experience. In all phases, you nailed it! Captain Adam, you are not only an exceptional Captain but an excellent host. The kids will never forget you driving up on the tender in your pirate garb to announce their pirate party that night. That was above and beyond! To chef Rachael, bravo! Your food was exceptional and your way of adapting and being gracious with all the complexities of a large group was impressive and we are grateful.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the unforgettable experience we had aboard. The crew exceeded our expectations, Captain Davide was exceptional; his knowledge of Sardinia allowed us to explore the most beautiful spots. Alessia was incredible, keeping the room clean and attendingto every need with a warm smile. Salvatore went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Chef Andrea deserves special praise for the outstanding meals we enjoyed every day. Together, they made our time on Prime truly unforgettable!
Italy FAQs
What is included in the charter fee and what are the other expenses I can expect to pay?
All charters in Europe and the Mediteranean are the base charter rate that you see online plus expenses.
What are expenses? While the base price covers the yacht and crew, additional costs such as fuel, food, drinks, mooring fees, port taxes, and communications are billed separately in the form of APA. The APA is a pre-paid amount, typically 20-40% of the charter fee depending on the boat and its used to cover variable expenses such as fuel, food, drinks, and port fees. At the end of the charter, any unused APA is refunded, and any excess expenses are charged to the charterer. Additionally, VAT tax is added to the charter fee and the VAT in Italy is 22%.
Additionally crew gratuity is customarily 10-15% of the base charter fee (APA/VAT excluded).
What types of yachts are available for charter in Italy?
Italy offers a diverse fleet, including:
- Sailing yachts: Ideal for traditional sailing experiences.
- Catamarans: Provide stability and spaciousness, great for families.
- Motor yachts: Offer speed and luxury amenities.
- Gulets: Traditional wooden vessels, often crewed, combining sailing and motor power.
How do I choose the right yacht and itinerary?
Working with a reputable charter broker is essential. They will consider your preferences, group size, budget, and desired activities to recommend suitable yachts and craft a personalized itinerary, ensuring a memorable experience
What are the main yacht charter regions in Italy?
Italy offers some of the best sailing destinations in the Mediterranean. The four main sailing areas are:
- Amalfi Coast: Famous for its dramatic cliffs, picturesque villages like Positano, and crystal-clear waters, perfect for a luxurious sailing experience.
- Sardinia: Known for its stunning beaches, clear waters, and the Costa Smeralda, a hotspot for yachts and upscale resorts.
- Sicily: A mix of ancient ruins, volcanic landscapes (like Mount Etna), and vibrant local culture, with plenty of islands to explore.
- Naples & Capri: Sail around the historic city of Naples, visit the glamorous island of Capri, and enjoy the scenic beauty of the Bay of Naples.
